Our position within the Church of God is that the vast majority of what the Apostle John wrote to the first century believers has already been fulfilled. It is relevant to believers today because of the patterns within church and world history that are being repeated. We most wholeheartedly concur that God is still involved in the affairs of humankind.

It is relevant to believers today because of the patterns within church and world history that are being repeated. We most wholeheartedly concur that God is still involved in the affairs of humankind. What would happen if we could study the book of Revelation and see what God intended for the Apostle John and his contemporaries to understand? It may seem to be somewhat simplistic but I have concluded that the primary reason for this divine intercession in the life of the apostle was for God to reassure him and those first century believers of fundamental truths that they might not lose hope and that their faith would endure.
