The apparently desolate world of Somneft hides a dormant threat – a tomb of the Necrons that the alien-hunting Deathwatch have vowed to crush before it can surface. Kill teams of specialist battle-brothers force their way inside, seeking to establish the true scale of the threat the tomb poses without triggering a catastrophic awakening that could be the death of worlds. Yet the structure is not wholly dormant. An eccentric Cryptek, active for millennia and aided by her retinue of unthinking thralls, has manipulated the tomb’s strata to her own ends. Twisted with psychosis, she eagerly hunts the invading Deathwatch in turn, seeing in them a novel source of experimentation.

This explosive expansion for Kill Team pits two crack teams of operatives against each other in an ancient, crumbling Necron crypt. Inside the box you'll find two full squads of elite xenos-hunting Deathwatch Space Marines – specialists employed by the Inquisition to hunt down alien threats. A bizarre, insect-like Cryptek is also included, along with her host of constructs turned from their purpose of maintaining the slumbering apparatus of the Necrons. You'll find a killzone of Necron terrain, the rules you need to play games within its claustrophobic corridors, and a set of tokens and cards to help keep track of everything.

In addition to all that, the box includes a set of Necron Warriors, Scarabs, and mission packs that pit you against the awakening tomb world. Play solo, with a team-mate, or against another team while non-player operatives threaten you both.

This boxed set contains:

– 80-page softcover Kill Team: Tomb World Dossier: Background, artwork, and rules for the kill teams included in the box, plus an overview of the planet Somneft and the Necron tomb complex. Two new mission packs are also included – one for solo or cooperative play, and another to add Necron non-player operatives for both teams to contend with.

– Deathwatch Kill Team: The Space Marines of the Deathwatch combine extensive knowledge of xenos threats with advanced weaponry to combat the denizens of the Necron tomb complex. 10x multipart plastic miniatures, enough to build two entire kill teams, including a variety of weapons and cosmetic options. You'll find all the bits you need to build specialists like the Watch Sergeant, Disruptor, Blademaster, and more.

Canoptek Circle Kill Team: Led by a Cryptek Geomancer, this collection of constructs has been altered by a violent set of protocols to repel the invading Space Marines. In addition to the Geomancer, this set builds 2x Tomb Crawlers, and 5x Macrocyte Warriors – one of which can alternatively be built as an Accelerator and another as a Reanimator. You'll also find a variety of weapon options for the operatives.

– Necron Warriors and Canoptek Scarab Swarm: This set of multipart plastic miniatures builds 10x Necron Warriors, and 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarms, to use as non-player operatives in solo play and cooperative games.

– Killzone: Tomb World: A double-sided folding game board, along with a set of 25x modular Tomb World terrain pieces consisting of pillars and walls, plus special pieces like a Necron sarcophagus and teleport pads.

Deathwatch Datacards: 37x datacards covering operatives, faction rules, ploys, faction equipment, universal equipment, and more.

– Canoptek Circle Datacards: 32x datacards covering operatives, faction rules, ploys, faction equipment, universal equipment, and more.

Tomb World Card Pack: Includes 12x Tomb World event cards, and 4x non-player operative datacards.

Combined Token Sheet: Easily track abilities, objectives, equipment, and points throughout your games with team-themed tokens. The sheet contains 67x double-sided cardboard tokens – 39x for the Deathwatch kill team, and 28x for the Canoptek Circle kill team.

This kit comprises 506 plastic components, 3x Citadel 50mm Round Bases, 2x Citadel 40mm Round Bases, 8x Citadel 32mm Round Bases, 5x Citadel 28.5mm Round Bases, 3x Citadel 40mm Round Hex Hole Bases, and 10x Citadel 32mm Round Hex Hole Bases.

These miniatures require assembly and are supplied unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.

The kill teams, datacards, tokens, terrain pieces, and other elements of this boxed set will be available separately at a later date.

You will need a copy of the Kill Team: Core Book, available separately, to make full use of the contents of this box.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
