The AquaClear Powerhead 70 is a versatile pump that provides exceptional performance for a range of aquarium uses. It effectively powers undergravel filters while also circulating and aerating the water in your aquarium. Additionally, it can be connected to protein skimmers, which are crucial for most marine aquariums. Freshwater aquariums will also see improvements with enhanced water currents in various setups.
When paired with an AquaClear Quick Filter, the Powerhead 70 offers an extra layer of mechanical filtration for clearer water and safeguards fry. This model features a distinctive reverse flow option that pushes water down the undergravel riser stem and under the gravel, fostering bacterial growth from the substrate upwards. The introduction of oxygen-rich water beneath the gravel bed creates optimal conditions for beneficial nitrifying bacteria.
The Powerhead 70 boasts several innovative design, safety, and utility features: a compact, energy-efficient motor that is fully submersible and insulated in epoxy resin to withstand harsh freshwater and saltwater conditions; a venturi aeration system that enhances surface agitation and gas exchange; a handy rim attachment bracket that easily fits most standard aquarium rims; and adjustable flow control.
