ESP-Disk' present a vinyl reissue of Peter Lemer Quintet's Local Colour, originally released in 1968. British pianist Peter Lemer studied with Jaki Byard, Paul Bley, and Bill Dixon. His lengthy and distinguished career has found him in a wide variety of settings. As an avant-garde jazz pianist, he recorded with Spontaneous Music Ensemble; in the jazz fusion realm, he was a member of Gilgamesh and Paraphernalia; as a progressive rock keyboardist, he played with Gong, Baker Gurvitz Army, the Mike Oldfield Group, Seventh Wave, and In Cahoots. Sideman credits include work with Annette Peacock, Harry Beckett, and more. Surprisingly, Local Colour - his debut recording - is Lemer's only album as a leader. Recorded in London in 1966, it belongs in the collection of anyone who cares about the British jazz scene, and not only because of Lemer's talents. Everyone in this quintet went on to notable achievements. This was sax great John Surman's recording debut; he is now arguably the premiere British jazz saxophonist. Chances to hear the also scintillating sax sound of the more obscure Nisar Ahmad Khan (AKA George Khan) in a jazz context are much rarer, though near the end of 2017, Emanem released an excellent two-disc compilation of concert recordings, and some may remember his appearance on Robert Wyatt's Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard (1975) and his work with Cream lyricist Pete Brown and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Drummer Jon (then going by John) Hiseman had already established himself on the British jazz scene by co-founding the New Jazz Orchestra in 1964; two years after the Local Colour session he started jazz-rock band Colosseum, and he even collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the musical Cats. Bassist Tony Reeves had had a hit single in 1965 with Sounds Orchestral ("Cast Your Fate to the Wind"); after a brief stint with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Reeves joined Hiseman in Colosseum; he was also a member of Greenslade and Curved Air. Together, they make a sort of inside/outside jazz that doesn't abandon themes and harmony but is still quite freewheeling when it wants to be. A seminal album of British avant-jazz. Personnel: Nisar Ahmad (George) Khan - tenor saxophone; John Surman - baritone and soprano saxophones, bass clarinet; Peter Lemer - piano; Tony Reeves - bass; Jon Hiseman - drums. Color: Light Purple
The chair is fine, and reasonably easy to put together. However, I've been using it for a little over a year and a half, and it's already falling apart. Random parts of it have fallen off, which is fine because it was still functional. But now the most frustrating part is that the wheels continue to pop off, and while the first attempts to pop them back on worked, they will not stay on now. This is obviously greatly impacting the stability, and I will need to purchase a replacement soon. For this price and lack of long-term durability, I would not buy again.

Alexa messed me up, but the company of the chair made it right!

I wanted something small with arms that moved out of the way when I wanted to slide my chair all the way into my desk for more space. This fit the bill. I loved the color blue and I had that in my cart for a bit. One day Alexa mentioned that an item that was in my cart was on sale. It was the chair. I let it be ordered. When it came it didn't exactly look blue to me. But I kept putting it together thinking maybe it was the lighting in the room I was assembling it in. I brought it to my craft room and lo and behold it is light purple. I looked at my order and sure enough it said light purple. Boo! I looked in my saved cart and the chair was gone. So I accepted it for an error. The next day I checked to see if I could return it. Thought I could, till I read that I would have to pay to return it. So I wrote the seller to tell them to ignore the return. And that was that. Till a couple days later I get an email from the seller asking if I would like a full refund or a replacement at no cost. I was like heck yeah send me the blue one. I was thrilled and I wanted to thank the seller for doing this without the return of the other chair. But I could not find a place to do that now. So here is where I will thank you. Thank you so much for doing this for me. You guys are AWESOME!. I love the chair and I love the blue color. I find it very comfortable, lite, easy to adjust, the size works great for me, and for the price the quality fits my needs. I do hope it lasts me for quite some time. Thanks again!

Awesome chair definitely recommend

It was amazing the color was spot on and it was very very easy to put together and the size is amazing for my 11 year old daughter maybe not for an older person it doesn’t recline as much as it says so if you want a reclining chair maybe I don’t recommend this chair but the quality is amazing and the adjustment capability is incredible the noise level is at 0 it is an amazing chair we just got it so I don’t know so much about the dupability so if you want this chair for a child or a tween maybe even a teen easy to put together beautiful blue color this is the chair for you.

Easy instructions, comfortable cushions

I just put it together and I love it!!! It's so comfortable and it was easy to put together. You can rock it back and forth which helps your back. The seat is very wide and the cushion is thick. Pink is my favorite color, and this chair satisfies my pink obsession.

Wonderful chair
Color: Dark Black
I bought this office chair as a sewing tool, you might say. I felt that having an office chair on wheels would get me from the sewing machine to the ironing board and then to the cutting board and back to the sewing machine. I was having to get up and down to get around to all these places before and this saves me so much time and effort.
I’m 71 so when the box came I was hesitant to try to bust into it and put it together but it went together so easily. It’s very comfortable and the lumbar support feels great on my low back. When I first sat down after the assembly process, the chair cushion tipped down in the front but after contacting the support team I was advised to tighten the tilt tension located under the chair and that fixed me right up!
All and all, my chair is the perfect addition to my sewing area at a very affordable price. I couldn’t be happier!
