Why This Ring Works

If you're looking for a ring that feels considered, sculptural and quietly strong — this is it.

This isn't flat or overly polished. It carries subtle movement through the surface. The edges soften. The form flows gently, with the width shifting organically as it moves around your finger — creating a presence that feels alive.

It feels shaped. Not manufactured.

This is the band you choose when you want something enduring — but not ordinary.

Whether marking a commitment, celebrating an anniversary, honouring a life transition, or simply choosing something significant for yourself — this ring carries the weight of intention.

Key Features

  • Solid 9ct yellow gold
  • Organic flowing band (approx. 8.5mm to 7mm width variation)
  • Approx. 1mm thickness
  • Weight: approx. 7–16 grams (size dependent)
  • Satin finish
  • Comfortable for everyday wear
  • Made to order in your size

The satin surface gives a soft, low-glow finish. Not mirror bright. Not flashy. Just warm gold that sits confidently on your hand.

It's substantial without being bulky. Present without being loud.

A Ring That Evolves With You

Gold changes. It warms. It gathers subtle marks over time.

That's part of the story.

This ring isn't about perfection. It's about presence. It will look different in ten years — and that's exactly the point.

For women. For men. For anyone who wants their ring to feel personal rather than standard issue.

Sizing & Ordering

Because this is a wide, solid gold band, pricing reflects the gold weight required for each size.

Not sure of your ring size?

Each ring is individually formed in wax before casting in solid gold, then finished by hand with a satin texture. No two rings are identical. Slight irregularities are part of the design language — and part of what makes this ring feel alive.

Heirloom Gold Option

If you have family gold — an old ring, a broken chain, inherited pieces — this ring can also be sand cast using your own metal.

Because gold purity and preparation vary, this option is available by enquiry only.

If that idea resonates, let's start a conversation.

14ct & 18ct Versions

This design can be made in 14ct or 18ct yellow gold.

Pricing for higher karats is available by enquiry, as gold prices fluctuate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this ring comfortable for everyday wear?
Yes. The organic flowing form and 1mm thickness create a substantial yet comfortable band designed for daily wear.

Can I resize this ring later?
Yes, 9ct gold can be resized. Either by bringing back to the HerbertandWilks workshop if in Auckland or  by a professional jeweller if outside of Auckland. However, because this is a wide band with an organic form, resizing may affect the flowing width variation. Contact us for guidance.

What if I don't know my ring size?
Read our ring sizing guide or visit our Mt Eden workshop for complimentary sizing (Auckland customers). We're happy to help you get the right fit before ordering.

How do I care for 9ct gold?
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Professional polish recommended annually to maintain the satin finish. Avoid harsh chemicals and remove when doing heavy work. Read our complete gold care guide.

A Final Thought

You'll wear this every day.

It shouldn't feel generic.
It shouldn't feel trend-driven.
And it definitely shouldn't feel like something you've seen on ten other hands.

This is sculptural. Organic. Intentional.

A ring with quiet strength.

Happy to find a seller that carries the 120
Size: 8.5"X11"
I’ve been doing sublimation since May 2025. I have tried a variety between 105, 120 and 125. I’m not exactly sure why 120 ASub it is becoming harder to find . I absolutely love it. When I make my stainless steel tumblers, my colors pop more with 120.

Great Sublimation Paper – Perfect for Mugs
Size: 8.5"X11"
I purchased A-SUB Sublimation Paper 8.5x11 Inch 120GSM and I’m very happy with the results. The colors transfer beautifully. I used it for sublimation mugs and the print came out vibrant, sharp, and very professional-looking. No fading, no dull colors. I also tried using it for a cap, but the issue was not the paper — my cap heat press machine didn’t perform well and the transfer failed. For mugs, this paper works perfectly. Highly recommend for mug sublimation projects.

Size: 4x9.5inch
First, the sizing is absolutely perfect for these projects. Instead of wasting large sheets and having to cut them down, these pre-cut sizes save a ton of time and effort — and most importantly, reduce paper waste. The quality of A-Sub paper has always been excellent: it holds vibrant colors beautifully, releases ink consistently, and produces crisp, sharp designs. Both of these sizes continue that tradition. I’ve noticed my images transfer smoothly and evenly every time, whether I'm working on ceramic mugs or glass tumblers. In terms of value, these smaller sheets are definitely worth the price. You get professional-quality results without using more paper than you need, which in the long run saves money and materials. Overall, I highly recommend these A-Sub sublimation papers for anyone looking to streamline their mug and tumbler production. They’re efficient, reliable, and a great investment for any sublimation business or hobbyist. - send me stuff to review.
