"You know that old phrase, 'Teach a penguin to cuss, and you'll never have to buy another comedy record' I'm sure you do. But what about it's codicil? 'Teach a guitarist to play synth, and you'll never have to buy a new age record?' If you know that one, you might well be put off by the fact this album features one of New Zealand's most wickedly post-tongue guitar players fiddling about with oscillators and analog synths (in concert with a guy who does this stuff all the time). But you need not fear. The only New Age being brunted about here is the same one Fahey disemboweled back in '97. An ornery cuss, it has lived in the cracks some-damn-place, only re-emerging now that it has been called forth by Bruce Russell and Noel Meek. Much of the sound on Classical Music (how Fahey would have loved everything about this record!) makes me think of Chris Marker's classic film, La Jetée (1962). As you certainly recall, the central motif in that film is the main quay at Aéroport de Paris-Orly, where visitors gather to watch the jets land and take off (just as I did at New York's Idlewild Airport when I was a kid). Well, particularly on the second side, this record is a jolt of aural déjà vu for me. If I close my eyes I can almost see a parade of 707s and DC-8s careening around the flats of Long Island, missing collisions by what seem like a series of miracles to me. Mr. Russell's last LP for us was 2016's Howling and Instability at High Volume Settings (FTR 219LP), and it is a sheer pleasure to realize how unstable he can be on instruments besides the guitar. Mr. Meek is wildly successful at this as well, and the combination is as bracing as an early morning slap of Old Spice. Step up for blast of Classical Music-style reality today. Pawesome variety box!

I’m a big fan of this box of tug toys. My dog loves to chew and play tug-of-war, and these have been a great fit for him. The quality is solid, and one box typically lasts us around 6 months. He’s now 3.5 years old, so he doesn’t chew as aggressively as he used to, which helps them last even longer.
You get a great variety in this box. It’s honestly like Christmas for him every time I bring out a new toy. I usually grab a couple and let him pick. The different shapes and sizes keep things interesting, and he enjoys all of them. The toys are lightweight but very durable, even for an aggressive chewer like mine.
The material is made of thinner rope strands, but they’re tightly woven, which makes them ideal for both tugging and chewing. I also think the texture helps with his teeth and keeps them a bit cleaner.
I do keep an eye on them once they start to unravel, since I don’t want him swallowing loose strings. That said, it takes a while for him to break them down, so I’m comfortable leaving them with him when I’m not home.
I’ve bought several of these boxes over the years. For the price, it’s a great value—about the same cost as a single tug toy at most pet stores. My dog is about 55 lbs, and these are a great size for him. Even the smaller ones get a lot of use. His favorites are the looped ones and the ones with balls—he gets excited every time I pull one out.
I’ve tried other tug toy variety packs, and they don’t compare to this one. If you’re looking for a reliable variety pack for your dog, I’d recommend this one with confidence.

Revenge is sweet

The package arrived promptly. The puppy was ecstatic. She leaped into the pile of toys and went crazy. She tore through one after another. In mere minutes she devoured everything in sight. They never stood a chance. Within an hour or two she had consumed the entire pile of toys. Not to worry they had their revenge. She puked multi color string for days.
Overall the toys were fun just not durable.

Very very durable

So after spending quite a bit of money on toys for a 1-year-old long-haired dachshund because she's a very aggressive chewer I took a chance and bought this rope set and it's been 2 months she still has all her ropes everything I must say this is a very durable set well worth the money well worth the play time she loves tug of war these ropes are great for tug of war she has not chewed through any of them she has tried to take them apart which she had succeeded on one but I put a few knots in it and other than that I would recommend this rope set to anyone that's got a dog that likes the fat especially play tug of war or is a very very aggressive sure

Doggos are excited but...

My dogs are ecstatic about their new ropes. But they're big and aggressive chewers. These ropes are thinner than the pictures made them look. I'd say they're appropriately sized for dogs up to 35 lbs - and not as great for the large breeds show in the pictures.
