Sleepwalker's Conviction documents a 2014 performance by Oren Ambarchi in collaboration with a 20-piece ensemble conducted by Ilan Volkov and featuring members of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Speak Percussion. Foregoing the rhythmic propulsion and distortion-saturated harmonics that have featured in much of Ambarchi's recent work, the LP's single 40-minute piece inhabits a hushed, almost static space of extended tones, percussive shimmer, and creaking strings. Rather than adopting the position of a soloist, Ambarchi allows his sub-bass guitar tones and swirling Leslie textures to blend seamlessly with the ensemble, made up of double basses, horns, and percussion. The group sound has a near-cavernous depth, as waves of low beating tones and distant percussive textures gently wash over one another, coalescing into an undulating mass. Steering clear of bombast and new music clichés, the result is a work of meditative beauty that touches on the haunted ambience of late Luigi Nono, the submerged sonics of Bryars's The Sinking of the Titanic, and the melancholy rituals of Christoph Heemann and Andrew Chalk's Mirror, while remaining unmistakably marked by the singular sensibility Ambarchi has developed over countless performances and recordings -Francis Plagne. Design by Stephen O'Malley with cover artwork by Crys Cole. Vinyl cut made by Rashad Becker at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin. Edition of 300.

Love these but be aware ...
Bought some of these on a recent UK cruise and loved them. Ordered online once we returned to US. Unfortunately USPS delivery vans are not air conditioned and these arrived with the chocolate melted. Once they cooled the chocolate hardened and rivaled the best industrial adhesive for sticking them whole pack together. Had to break them apart. Not the fault of the manufacturer or the shipper, but beware.

These biscuits seem to melt easily.

All melted and ruined.
First - let me tell you how much I love these biscuits. I really REALLY love them. Living in Texas as an ex-pat, they give me a nice little treat from home when I needed it.
Second - Shipping SUCKS. While speedy, the box is not marked for keeping out of the heat, or "needs refrigeration" etc... SOMETHING. They were left in my mail box. ALL day. In 90+ degree Texas heat. So yeah, the chocolate melted them all together, even though I immediately put them in the fridge. They were a mess to break apart, and instead I ended up with 2-3 layer sandwich-like biscuit chunks.
I'm so disappointed- how do I dip them in my Tetley cuppa, when they come like this?? I won't buy these from this seller in the future.

Great product and service after disappointment

Ive tried a few different brands of biltong and made my own. I have to say that this wasn't my favorite. Believe me, i wanted to like it. The taste was sour and most of the bag was pulverized shreds. :( I did find that letting a bit airdry in a bowl made it a little more palatable, but honestly it'sjust sitting in my fridge still, where normally I'd have eaten the whole bag in a day or so. I will say that there was a decent amount for the price. The texture and cut were good on the whole pieces. Also, some of the bites left a weird coating and nasty taste on my tongue, like baking soda or something, but definitely an off taste.
I had my own beef jerky store for several years, so I'm a connoisseur, but no snob.
-----update 8/13/2019-------
I contacted customer service via the email on the bag and got a response. They sent me a new bag and here is the email I sent them back. Very happy now.
....The biltong showed up last Thursday! I'm sorry i kept forgetting to email you.
It is delicious. It's night and day difference between the bag I got through Amazon originally.
This bag was pristine and the taste is spot on. Every piece is a perfect slice, no shreds or fluff. Dark, rich brown color, not hay colored like the old bag. I really think that the other bag got very hot or something and out the taste off.
Thank you so much. Now I know that if I am in the mood for biltong, Ayoba-yo is a good choice.
