The Shakedown Combo perform with the attitude that Rockabilly can be contemporary, not simply a sound from past decades revived by cover bands whenever retro becomes fashionable. The track-list of this debut album (produced by Danny B Harvey) displays that they favor original material over reworking the old classics. However, they don't dismiss the original rockers, or the 1980s revivalists. Rockabilly artists from both eras play a big part in influencing the sound and style of the Shakedown Combo, giving them a solid base to move forward from. Rockabilly fans will love the twanging guitar and slapping double bass that typify the genre, but the catchy upbeat songs and modern production invite wider appeal. The Shakedown Combo's line-up consists of two girls (Gill on vocals and Miss Kimmi on upright bass) and two guys (Davey Lee on guitar and Zurco on Drums) who together blast out Red Hot Bass Slappin' Beat Whackin' Rockabilly Twang!

Good book!
Format: Paperback
Very helpful book for pathophysiology. The CD not only gives you answers to the case studies but gives you clear details of the clinical Pathophysiology of a particular disease. Definitely recommend it to students going for their Master's degree!

No Answers Provided to Case Studies
Format: Paperback
The cases are helpful; however, realize that there are NO answers whatsoever to the questions presented in the cases--not a huge problem I suppose, b/c you can google everything, but certainly an annoyance. (esp. when there are multiple possible answers. The author states in the foreword that some of the cases are real; in which case, why not provide the justification presented in the patient's chart as to why that patient takes a particular drug, esp. considering that you may take a drug for its side effects rather than its therapeutic effect. . .anyhow. . )
I think if the author provided at least SOME insight/guidance to the cases that it would be much more helpful, but until then, I'm skeptical as to why others gave this book 5 stars.

Used this for a Patho class and thought it was a great resource. My group had hypertension and it was really good about giving an overview of the disease without overwhelming you with information. Some of the studies were obvious as to why the disorder occurred but in those cases it helped link body systems and show interactions.
