Blackmagic Design Spares - Camera Studio Plus - PCB MainThe Blackmagic Design Spares Camera Studio Plus PCB Main is the central motherboard for the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus or 6K Plus models. The "Plus" series is designed as the HDMI centric sibling to the "Pro" series. The Blackmagic Design Spares - Camera Studio Plus - PCB Main is the central motherboard for the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus or 6K Plus models.

The "Plus" series is designed as the HDMI-centric sibling to the "Pro" series. While it retains the same professional sensor and color science, the Plus Main PCB is hardware-stripped of SDI, XLR, and 10G Ethernet components to make it more affordable and streamlined for users working primarily with ATEM Mini or SD switchers.

Core Responsibilities

The Plus Main PCB manages all digital operations within the camera:

  • HDMI Control Protocol: This board is specifically engineered to handle CEC-style control over HDMI. This allows an ATEM Mini switcher to remotely control the camera’s iris, shutter, and color grading without needing SDI return cables.

  • Image Processing: Houses the FPGA responsible for Blackmagic’s Gen 5 Color Science and BRAW encoding (when recording to external USB-C disks).

  • Power Management: Regulates the 12V DC input from the locking barrel connector to power the 7-inch screen and the sensor.

  • USB-C Logic: Manages high-speed data for external disk recording and provides communication for Zoom and Focus Demands.

Key Differences: Plus vs. Pro Main PCBs

It is critical to ensure you have the Plus version of the board. You cannot "upgrade" a Plus camera to a Pro by simply swapping the board, as the chassis lacks the physical cutouts for the Pro's XLR and SDI ports.

  • No SDI I/O: The Plus PCB lacks the 12G-SDI driver chips.

  • No XLR Audio: The audio subsystem on this board is limited to the 3.5mm mic input and internal mics.

  • No PoE: This board does not support Power over Ethernet; it relies entirely on the DC barrel jack.

When to Replace the Main PCB

  • HDMI Port Failure: If the HDMI port is physically intact but the camera provides no output or "No Signal" on all monitors, the HDMI transmitter chip on the PCB is likely blown.

  • Total Power Failure: The camera remains unresponsive even when using a known-good Blackmagic DC power supply.

  • USB-C "Dead Zone": The camera fails to recognize any external SSDs or ignores inputs from Focus/Zoom demands.

  • Firmware Bricking: The camera fails to boot and cannot be recovered via the Blackmagic Camera Setup utility.

Technical Installation Note

DANGER: Level 4 (Expert) Repair. 1. Chassis Density: Although the Plus has fewer ports than the Pro, the internal layout is almost identical. You must remove the 7-inch screen assembly to access the Main PCB mounting points.

2. Thermal Paste Application: You must remove the old thermal material from the internal heat sink and apply fresh compound to the primary processing chips. The Studio Plus relies on its magnesium body to dissipate heat; poor thermal contact will lead to "thermal runaway" and permanent hardware damage.

3. Ribbon Cable Sensitivity: The ribbon cable for the 7-inch display is wide and very thin. Use extreme caution when flipping the locking tabs on the ZIF connectors.

4. Static Safety: Always work on an ESD-safe mat. The HDMI and USB-C controllers are highly susceptible to static shocks.

Expert Advice: If your Studio Plus isn't being "controlled" by your ATEM, it is rarely a Main PCB failure. Check your HDMI cable first—standard cables often lack the data pins required for Blackmagic's control protocol. If the camera outputs video but won't change iris via the switcher, swap the cable before swapping the board!

Are you seeing a specific "Processing Error" on the display, or has the HDMI output stopped working entirely?

Modern, Sturdy, and Perfect for Outdoor Projects
Size: 38"Height × 14" Wide
These metal pipes made fantastic table legs for our outdoor wood table. They have a sleek, modern look that feels high-end. We sprayed them with Rust-Oleum for added protection, and they’ve held up great. Solid, stylish, and functional—highly recommend for any DIY furniture project!

Strong legs, somewhat industrial but trendy also
Size: side table leg
Good legs, some what utilitarian or industrial, they are strong as they are made out of pipe, and assembly is fairly easy once you get the idea of how it goes together. They are roughly 1.5 feet across maybe a bit less adjustable height on each leg, if you have wood floors you may want to put a pad under each leg as they are full metal pipes. Pretty interesting idea and does not cost much.

Pretty good, take your time and install it well
Size: side table leg
Materials are pretty solid, but once assembled it’s not as sturdy as you would think it should be since the material itself was solid, i say give them a chance, everything out there that’s similar is way over priced
