- The Kestrel replacement salt kit comes with one (50 gram) container of NaCl (Sodium Chloride 75.3%) and one (50 gram) container of MgCl (Magnesium Chloride 32.8%).
- Replacement salt kits should only be used if you have the Kestrel Meter Calibration Kit.
- Distilled water is recommended to be used when recalibrating.
- For use with: Kestrel 5000, Kestrel 4500, Kestrel 4300, Kestrel 4200, Kestrel 4100, Kestrel 4000, Kestrel 3500, and Kestrel 3000 (Both the older 2 button and 4 button version)
- NOTE: The replacement salts are sourced in Australia and have a larger grain size compared to the salts supplied in the Calibration Kit.
- TIP: We recommend using boiling distilled water when mixing it with the calibration replacement salts, this process allows the water to be absorbed more easily by the salts, simplifying the process of achieving the slurry consistency required for the calibration process.

Light and comfortable, didn't hold up for a full season

Pros:boots were extremely light and comfortable.
Cons: if you work in rocky areas like northern California you will only get 1/2-1 season on these. Mine lasted 6 months then the fabric ripped, the soles had holes all the way through to the middle, and the tread wore down til they were smooth slick rubber.
If they cost $150-$175 I'd buy 2 pairs a season but at over $300 a pair there are much better options

Nice boot!!

Very comfortable. Built well and obviously high quality. Fits a little big, about a size larger. They are a little thinner/cooler than the Danner Wildland and Haix Missoula. They do not have any NFPA rated tags or labels on the boot. Will upgrade the laces. Would love to see the boa system on this boot!

Needs work

I’m disappointed that I spent almost 400$ on a pair of boots and wore them for 3 days and both boot laces broke near the eyelets. As a wildland firefighter I need to be able to rely on my boots.
