A Night on Earth in Scotland erzählt die Geschichte des weltberühmten schottischen Hogmanay-Festes, das jedes Jahr am 31. Dezember gefeiert wird, und fängt die universelle Freude an der Feier des Jahreswechsels ein. Diese saisonale Veröffentlichung ist eine Zusammenarbeit mit der renommierten japanisch-französischen Illustratorin Erica Dorn, deren Werke bereits in den Filmen von Regisseur Wes Anderson zu sehen sind.  Der Single Malt wird in einer einzigartigen Verpackung präsentiert, die das Auspacken zu einem besonderen Erlebnis macht. Dorns verspielte abstrakte Illustrationen sind von den historischen Feuerritualen inspiriert, die bei Neujahrsfeiern auf der ganzen Welt vorherrschen. HOGMANAY TRADITION Hogmanay, ausgesprochen "hog-muh-nei", ist das berühmte schottische Neujahrsfest. Erica Dorns maßgeschneiderte Entwürfe verdeutlichen einige der besonderen Bräuche des schottischen Hogmanay, einschließlich des "first footing", bei dem es Glück bringt, wenn ein dunkelhaariger Besucher nach dem Schlag von Mitternacht als erster die Schwelle des Hauses überschreitet. Der Tradition nach trägt der "erste Fußgänger" drei Dinge bei sich: Shortbread, Whisky und Kohle für das Feuer. Erica Dorn’s bespoke designs reveal some of the distinctive customs of Scotland’s Hogmanay, including the act of ‘first footing’ when it is good luck for a dark-haired visitor to be the first person to cross the threshold of your home after the stroke of midnight. According to tradition, the ‘first footer’ will carry three things: shortbread, whisky and coal for the fire. Each gift is designed to bring comfort and happiness to your home for the rest of the year. Shortbread is also a prominent flavour in the whisky. A Night on Earth in Scotland is created from a selection of The Macallan’s exceptional American and European oak sherry seasoned casks, along with American ex-bourbon barrels to deliver its rich, sweet shortbread-like character. A whisky referencing the rich Scottish delicacy traditionally gifted and eaten at Hogmanay, punctuated by festive notes of dried orange and spice.
