It's so good: the rhythm of The Rhythm digs into your brain and doesn't let go. There are lots of good vintage retro pulp paperback covers that show dancing, and dancers, but very few of them communicate the idea of being caught - trapped - by the music, so that you abandon yourself to it, and it owns you.

Eventually I ended up with one of history's most famous (infamous?) dancers: Salome. Operas have been written about her; Oscar Wilde wrote about her; this vintage German opera poster perfectly captures the power of the music and the complete abdication of self it sometimes demands of us. Mmmmm.
