Upon my son's graduation from high school, I wanted to take him on a memorable bonding trip just the two of us. He had been playing the guitar for many years and always had a fondness for jazz, so I felt that taking him to New York City to experience the jazz clubs there was something extraordinary. Something different from an experience you could have anywhere else. I took him to Blue Note, one of the premiere jazz clubs in the world and a cultural institution in the city. Sharing this moment with my son touched my heart. To feel and experience the music through his eyes inspired me to create a piece to honor Blue Note. An artwork that speaks to people the way music speaks to musicians.
