Sludge Interface Detector

Raven SID-20200 Sludge Interface Detector is a portable, handheld instrument designed to accurately measure sludge blanket depth in wastewater treatment applications. Suitable for primary tanks, clarifiers, sedimentation basins, lagoons, and tanks with settled solids, the SID-20200 provides fast, reliable interface detection for process monitoring and control. This model replaces the earlier SID-10200 and incorporates several performance and usability upgrades.

Available with 20, 30, or 50-foot probe and cable lengths, the SID-20200 features a counter roller system that eliminates the need for cable markers and delivers precise depth measurements. The backlit digital display shows sludge interface depth in inches or centimetres, allowing operators to easily document results under all lighting conditions. Adjustable sensitivity ensures reliable detection across a wide range of sludge types.

The detector uses an infrared sensor probe connected by a strain-relieved signal cable, with waterproof protection rated IP68 up to 50 feet, while the handheld unit is housed in an IP66 weather-resistant case. Audible and visual indicators confirm interface detection, and a low battery indicator helps prevent downtime in the field.

Replacement probe and cable assemblies are available for ongoing maintenance, allowing the instrument to remain in service for years with straightforward upkeep. Built in the USA, the SID-20200 is a dependable solution for accurate sludge blanket measurement in demanding environments.

FAQ

Is this the same as a “sludge blanket detector”?
Yes. Operators commonly use “sludge interface detector” and “sludge blanket detector” interchangeably. The SID-20200 detects the solid/liquid interface so you can record blanket depth.

What tanks can I use it in?
Primary clarifiers, secondary clarifiers (where applicable), sedimentation basins, lagoons, and most settling tanks with a defined interface.

Is the SID-20200 the current model?
Yes—Raven states the SID-20200 replaces the SID-10200.

Does it show depth in metric?
Yes. The display can show inches or centimeters.

How do I pick 20 ft vs 30 ft vs 50 ft?
Choose based on tank depth + how far you stand from the access point/handrail. When in doubt, 30 ft is the most versatile option.

Can I replace just the probe/cable?
Yes—replacement probe/cable assemblies are available.

Is it rugged enough for field use?
The handheld unit is listed as IP66, and the probe/cable is IP68.

Does it make noise when it hits the interface?
Yes—there’s an audible horn plus visual indication.

Do I need calibration?
For typical process control trending, operators focus on repeatable technique and consistent measurement points. (If you want, add an internal SOP PDF download to strengthen trust.)

Is this for continuous monitoring?
No—this is a portable spot-check tool. For continuous blanket monitoring, plants typically use fixed ultrasonic/sonar blanket monitors.

Do you ship from Canada?

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.
