Background

Aquaporin-2 (AQP2) is a water channel protein located in the apical cell membranes of the kidney's collecting duct principal cells and in intracellular vesicles. It is encoded by the AQP2 gene and is the only aquaporin regulated by vasopressin. AQP2 plays a crucial role in urine concentration and body water homeostasis by facilitating water reabsorption from the primary urine into the bloodstream. Vasopressin binds to receptors on the cell surface, triggering a signaling pathway that moves AQP2-containing vesicles to fuse with the plasma membrane, thus increasing water permeability. This process is regulated both in the short term (minutes) through vesicle trafficking and in the long term (days) through changes in AQP2 gene expression. AQP2 is also regulated by food intake, with fasting reducing its expression independently of vasopressin. Dysfunction of AQP2, such as mutations in the AQP2 gene, can lead to nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, a condition characterized by excessive urination and dehydration.

American sizing!

These are great t-shirts and fantastic quality for the price. I bought them for my sons. The cotton is thick and nice-looking, the ivory colour is beautiful and it looks a lot more expensive than it is. I bought one for my eldest son and then bought two more (one for each son). The first one I bought has been getting a lot of wear for about three months. I wash it in the machine and line dry it because we line dry everything where we live. It has held up beautifully, has not shrunk, pilled or changed in any way. The only thing, and it is not a bad thing, per se, is that this is REAL American sizing. We are all tall with broad shoulders, and my eldest is a bit heavy. (Around 1m84 and 105 kg, I'm feeling too lazy to convert it online, but probably in the area of 6'1" or 2" and over 200 pounds.) So I ordered 2XL, which is what he wears in most inexpensive brands we get here. But, although he has been wearing it, as he needed cool-weather clothes, it is long in the sleeves and body and also wide. So I ordered him a second one in XL and he will set the XXL aside until he needs it, or gains weight. I would definitely recommend sizing down from what you usually order. But these are great! The Amazon interface seems to be prompting me to address functionality and cut. The cut is very good, although both large and long. I don't really know what they mean by functionality. It's a t-shirt, not ski wear or running shoes! The cotton fabric is nice and thick and soft. It's comfortable. It definitely works, as a garment. Don't know what else to say! (Just to let you know, I am a real human ordering from overseas. I am not paid or even receiving merchandise in return for this review, although I wouldn't say no if they offered.)
