A rare and captivating example of 19th-century craftsmanship, this antique micromosaic ring (originally circa 1880) features an intricately detailed bird—possibly a red-headed woodpecker—rendered in minute tesserae of glass, set against a vivid blue background. The mosaic was originally housed in a Victorian silver pin, and has been thoughtfully transformed by backing the piece in gold and mounting it in a custom 14 karat gold ring setting. This expert conversion preserves the historic integrity of the mosaic while offering modern wearability.
