Most glucosamine is manufactured by processing chitin from the shells of shellfish including shrimp, lobster and crabs. This means that many glucosamine supplements are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans or for those with a shellfish allergy.

Nutrigold’s Glucosamine Hydrochloride delivers 750mg glucosamine HCl per capsule and is derived from corn, so is suitable for people who do not include animal or fish products in their diets, as well as those with a shellfish allergy.

In the Nutrigold product the hydrochloride (HCl) is used as a “carrier” (or ligand) for getting glucosamine into the body. The advantage of using HCl rather than a sulphate carrier (as found in many other glucosamine supplements) is that more bioactive glucosamine is bound per HCl carrier compared to a sulphate carrier. This ultimately means that each Nutrigold Glucosamine Hydrochloride capsule contains more bioactive glucosamine compared to the HCl carrier therefore fewer capsules have to be taken to achieve the same dose of a product containing glucosamine sulphate.

Use: 1-2 capsules daily after food or as directed by a practitioner.
