Renowned child psychologist and New York Times bestselling author of Lost at School and The Explosive Child explains how to cultivate a better parent-child relationship while also nurturing empathy, honesty, resilience, and independence.

Parents have an important task: figure out who their child is—his or her skills, preferences, beliefs, values, personality traits, goals, and direction—get comfortable with it, and then help them pursue and live a life according to it. Yet parents also want their kids to be independent, but not if they are going to make bad choices. They want to avoid being too overbearing, but not if an apathetic kid is what they have to show for it. They want to have a good relationship with their kids, but not if that means being a pushover. They don’t want to scream, but they do want to be heard. Good parenting is about striking the balance between a child’s characteristics and a parent’s desire to have influence.

Dr. Ross Greene “makes a powerful case for rethinking typical approaches to parenting and disciplining children” (The Atlantic). Through his well-known model of solving problems collaboratively, parents can forgo timeout and sticker charts; stop badgering, berating, threatening, and punishing; allow their kids to feel heard and validated; and have influence.

From homework to hygiene, curfews, to screen time, Dr. Greene “arms parents with guidelines that are clear, doable, and sure to empower both parents and their children” (Adele Faber, coauthor of How to Talk So Kids Will Listen). Raising Human Beings is “inspirational…a game-changer for parents, teachers, and other caregivers. Its advice is reasonable and empathetic, and readers will feel ready to start creating a better relationship with the children in their lives” (Publishers Weekly, starred review).

Cool to the touch
Color: Sage Green, Size: King
These sheets are nice but in my opinion they aren’t worth more than $100. Side note, finding goose down inserts are challenging to find in the 20x40 pillow case they provide. So keep that in mind. The goose down pillow size I’m most commonly seeing for a king size bed are usually 18x36. That is more my fault for not double checking. They do feel cool to the touch which I do appreciate.

Excellent quality
Color: White, Size: King
This sheet set is Very soft and Very thick. Excellent quality. Excellent value for the money. I’ll definitely purchase more in other colors. I love the bag that they come in because we live in a small apartment and being able to fold the sheets and place them in the bag for storage is a bonus.

So soft and amazing quality
Color: 12 - Light Beige, Size: Twin
I can't tell you if they're cooling or not yet. The weather took a turn for the cold so I haven't put them on the bed yet. But the quality..omg it's exceptional! These are insanely soft! Not slippery like satin but not scratchy like percale. They're like the best of both worlds..light as satin but nicely weighty like percale. I don't know what kind of sorcery this is but these are literally better than those 6-zillion count Egyptian cotton sheets that cost more than the GDP of a small nation. These are exceptional!! Soft as butter but still feel like they'll last a while and not let you fall out of bed like silk lol. When you fold them, they snap nicely. They seem to have a lived in look..like they'll never be utterly wrinkle-free but who cares..they're smooth, soft and supposed to be cooling. I never thought I'd find anything more comfortable than cotton sheets but these are even better. The colors are ok. Pretty basic but they are true to life..some others look different online than when you get them..not these colors online are accurate. This was a great deal and I'd recommend a thousand times over!
