Comfrey Oil

Herbal Oil Infused with Comfrey Roots and Leaves

Comfrey is a time honored herb for taking care of all sorts of minor skin issues.

Amongst herbalists, it's known as a "vulnerary" - meaning, an agent that helps to heal and regenerate the connective tissues of the body.

Comfrey oil is great for scrapes, scratches, minor cuts, chapped skin, cracked feet and elbows, burns, hemorrhoids, and cold sores. It significantly speeds up skin cell proliferation due, at least in part, to its allantoin content.

It does this SO effectively that you should NOT apply it to deep wounds because it can actually heal and seal the surface over before deeper tissues have had a chance to heal, potentially resulting in an abscess.

Comfrey is Known As the Bone-Knitter Herb

Comfrey is also known as the "bone knitter" herb, used traditionally to help speed up recovery of fractured bones, as well as sprains and strains, pulled muscles, and dislocations.

Because of comfrey’s amazing cell proliferation properties, there are concerns that using comfrey topically over a broken bone that hasn’t been correctly set may heal the bone out of place!

It also has anti-inflammatory and pain reducing properties which are very useful when healing from a fracture.

This oil contains both the roots and the leaves of the comfrey plant, as each has its own particular combination of healing compounds to offer and therefore its own special set of benefits.

The base for this comfrey oil is organic sesame oil, which has been used preferentially for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine for its ability to penetrate and deliver nutrients deep into the body's tissues.

Did Comfrey Save My Shoulder?

I don't know... maybe!

Comfrey oil actually marked my entrance into the herbal world with my fractured shoulder. I began applying it before I even KNEW it was broken - along with arnica and Saint Johns Wort oils. I believe I have those three herbs to thank for helping hold my shoulder together during the two months that I didn't know it was broken - during which time it was not properly immobilized. The orthopedic surgeon and I deemed it nothing short of a miracle that my shoulder not only held together, but healed seamlessly.

Thank you, comfrey.

*There has been a long-standing controversy between herbalists and scientists alike about the safety of comfrey for oral use. As this debate rages on, all agree that the external use of comfrey is completely safe.

Didn't even last an hour!
Color: Orange & Blue, Color: Orange & Blue
I had high hopes for these toys as the description sounded like they might be not easily destructible. Well, I was dissapointed again. Our shih-poo (half shih-tzu/ half minature poodle) had one of the toys apart in an hour. See photo.

Stuffed with Plastic
Color: Orange & Blue
So these are super cute and they have crinkle sounds and a squeaker, but these would not be suitable for chewers. The have plastic stuffing in the legs and my dog almost choked on it...so I just have to tell you that these may be ok for smaller dogs but mine is 30 pounds and he ripped through it and started eating the plastic crinkle stuffing.

Awesome entertainment
This is wonderful and entertaining for both you and your dogs. Both mine used the same one as puppies a year apart and still play with it. Great for mentally and physically as it tires them out.

Great Interactive feeding toy
Style: Modern
Works amazing to keep my French Bulldog moving thinking while he eats. It’s been really durable and keeps him engaged while snacking or eating. It’s the perfect size to store a scoop of food in for him.
