This is a rich, luxurious body cream that is as wonderful for your hands as for the rest of your body. But don't let its decadence fool you - it's also a very potent medicinal! 

The cream has been infused with a premium extract of frankincense rich in boswellic acids (BA), particularly the highly desirable AKBA variety.

The extract powder is created from pure frankincense resin using a very labor-intensive process using organic ethanol. The final powder consistently tests extremely high in BA - at 70 percent. You can read more about this extract at the link below. 

Boswellic Acid Extract & How It's Made 

Is This Just Lotion with a Little Frankincense Essential Oil Added In?

Not at all!

Essentials oils represent only the smaller volatile compounds of a plant. If you are wanting the therapeutic benefits that specifically come from the boswellic acids unique to the Boswellia species, you can only get those from dissolving the resin. Boswellic acid molecules are too large to be captured by distillation. 

This cream has those boswellic acids (BA) added back in via the special premium extract, as described above.

In addition to the boswellic acids, the cream is fortified with shea butter, jojoba, and other naturally moisturizing oils, as well as aloe vera leaf juice and vitamins E and B5. It has a pleasantly light aroma from an organic essential oil blend of frankincense (of course), vetiver, and petitgrain. 

Although these natural ingredients certainly nourish and rejuvenate the skin, this cream's benefits don't stop there!

Benefits Beyond Skin Deep

Many people have experienced symptomatic relief from taking a boswellia supplement, but many don't know that you can derive the same benefits through the skin - transdermally. 

This is what allows frankincense cream to perform its magic! 

One study compared the BA levels in the synovial fluid of the knee joints between two groups - one taking an oral BA supplement and the other applying a BA ointment to the skin. They found the two groups to be equal!

The two groups also experienced comparable symptomatic relief from the BA treatment, whether it was oral or transdermal.

Storage

This cream will keep for at least 18 months unopened at room temperature. Once opened, it should keep at least 9-12 months, especially if you avoid dipping your fingers into it. (The Miron glass bottle will maintain it longer.) Refrigeration will also extend its life. Avoid exposing to temperature extremes.
