artist biography
Wiking Svensson was born on February 23, 1915 in Ölme in Värmland. He was a Swedish artist.

Svensson studied with André Lhôte, Othon Friesz, Edmond Mac Avoy and Fernand Legér in Paris where he lived and worked for a decade between 1946 and 1956. During the Paris period, he had exhibitions at a number of galleries including the Musée des Art Moderne and the Ticino Institute. He is represented at the Ticino Institute and at the Musée de Pau in France. During his time in Paris, he experimented in different directions in his work before arriving at a non-figurative painting in dark colours, where the light breaks through in the centre and fades towards the sides. During the 1960s, he switched to expressive, deformed figures in thickly built-up oil paint.
After his 10 years in Paris he returned to Sweden, settling in Gothenburg and for a period in Dalsland. In addition to exhibiting in Sweden he participated in a large number of international exhibitions, including shows in San Francisco Brussels and traveling exhibitions in Spain in 1964 and the Biennale in Antibes and in Oslo in 1965.

Examples of Svensson’s work are held in the collections at the National Museum and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Gothenburg Art Museum, Malmö Museum Norrköping Art Museum, Värmland Museum Borås Art Museum, Västerås City Art Collection and the Kiruna City Art Collection.

Svensson passed away in 1979.

Super cute, comfortable, practical, love that they are slip on
Size: 10.5, Color: Tobacco/Black
I have worn these 2-3 times already. The first day was a school/work day so I was on my feet 9 hours and the only issue I had was with the side of the boot rubbing against my ankle. I just make sure I wear socks high enough to cover my ankles or jeans that go into the boots now for long wear days. Absolutely love them! They keep my feet dry in this snow( we live in Michigan). I had been looking for a pair like this for awhile now and was getting super frustrated that I couldn't find my size in any that I liked. I saw that they had these available in a 10.5 and I wear 11. I looked at the Sorel website reviews (since the amazon ones weren't super helpful on sizing) and they said that the boots ran big so I took a chance on the 10.5 fitting me. They fit perfect. I have long narrow feet but I could see where they would be tight or uncomfortable on someone with wider feet. I've been trying to find a pair for my mom now since she has boot envy.

Beautiful Crossbody!
Color: Vanilla/Acorn
In my opinion, this is the perfect crossbody. First, it is very stylish- Michael Kors Signature design & lovely leather trim. I have been searching for a crossbody and this fits all my needs. Zipper pocket is perfect for my cell phone, inside has plenty of room and is a few inches wide at the bottom- not flat. The shoulder strap is wider at the shoulder for comfort- such a nice feature. Great bag!!!

Worth the money
Color: Gold-tone Hardware/Leather/Dress Blues
Was made of excellent material and put together nicely. Looked like black in the picture but was dark navy, I just didn’t read the description.
