The Miyota 9132 movement is an engineering masterpiece because it packs high-end, luxury-grade complications and exceptional reliability into an accessible, produced package. Built on Miyota’s premium 9000-series architecture, this slim automatic caliber operates at a high frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), ensuring a smooth sweeping second hand and precise timekeeping. It features 26 jewels to minimize friction, a 24-hour sub-dial indicator at the 6 o'clock position, a date window, and a highly functional power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, which monitors the movement's 40-hour power reserve. Of the movements we purchased for this production we pulled 20 random units for testing and the AVERAGE timekeeping +/- 11 seconds per day, it offers modern conveniences like hacking seconds for precise time setting and manual hand-winding capabilities. By integrating a unidirectional winding rotor that maximizes kinetic efficiency within a compact chassis measuring 30.2mm in diameter and just 5.46mm in thickness, Miyota engineered a robust, feature-rich powerhouse that allows independent watchmakers to compete directly with expensive Swiss alternatives.
