Full Spanish cedar interior: what it changes
All drawers and internal walls of the EAMES Edition are made of Spanish cedar — the reference wood for premium humidors for centuries, and for good reason. Its hygroscopic cellular structure absorbs excess humidity and releases it when the air is too dry, acting as a natural buffer in addition to the humidifier. Its aromatic terpenes gradually migrate into the tobacco leaves, enriching the taste profile of your cigars as they age. And it naturally repels the tobacco beetle, an insect capable of destroying a collection in a few weeks.
The EAMES Edition does not compare to an MDF humidor clad in cedar veneer — here, it's full cedar on all contact surfaces with your cigars.
Preparing the EAMES before first use — seasoning

Humidify the walls — with a slightly damp cloth (distilled water only), gently wipe all cedar surfaces of each drawer. Do not soak — blot.

Fill the humidifier to 50% — place it in its dedicated drawer with the hygrometer. Close the humidor completely.

Wait 24 to 48 hours — check the hygrometer visible on the front. Target: stable 65 to 70%. Repeat if humidity is not reached.

Load your collection — once the humidity is stable, place your cigars by origin and format in the drawers with the removable divider. The EAMES is ready.
Distilled water only — never use tap water in the humidifier. Limescale clogs humidification systems and can leave residue on tobacco leaves. Distilled water is available in supermarkets for a few cents per liter.
Mandatory seasoning before first use: new cedar is delivered dry and would absorb moisture from your cigars if you placed them immediately. Absolutely follow the 4 steps above before placing your collection inside.

What is the difference between the Eames Classic and the Eames Visionary?
The Classic version has a solid lid — better thermal insulation, understated presence in the decor. The Visionary version has a glass top that allows you to see the contents of the upper thin drawer without opening the humidor. Both offer exactly the same internal preservation quality.
Do I need to prepare the EAMES humidor before putting cigars in it?

Not ultra dense, but very soft and cozy

This is a really nice throw. It’s very soft and cozy, and for the price, I think it’s a great value.
I like the sewn-in label too. It gives it a slightly more high-end look compared to the more generic fuzzy blankets you see everywhere now.
The texture is a little different from some faux fur blankets I’ve had. It’s not that super dense, ultra-short type where you can’t really see the fibers. This one has a bit more length to the pile, so you can see the strands more. It’s more like a thicker but slightly airy kind of softness, and it’s really nice on my skin. It’s really, really cozy to snuggle up with.
👋 One thing I always recommend with blankets like this—no matter the brand—is do not put it in the dryer. Even on low, the heat and tumbling will start to change the texture. If you want it to stay as soft as it is when you first get it, wash it gently and let it air dry.
The reason is all faux fur is made from very fine synthetic fibers (basically plastic). Even low heat and the tumbling action can cause those fibers to start to stiffen, flatten, or slightly melt together over time. Once that happens, it loses that soft, fluffy texture and you can’t really get it back.
I think this would make a great gift, and it’s hard to find a faux fur blanket this soft at this price point.
