Protecting data in today’s complex environments requires a proven, scalable backup solution that minimizes downtime and simplifies management. Veritas Backup Exec Simple Add On + Essential Support delivers a reliable on-premise subscription license renewal for a single instance, backed by Veritas’ trusted protection capabilities and the value of academic pricing through the Veritas Academic Licensing Program (ALP). This 2-year renewal ensures continuous access to essential backup and recovery features, regular updates, and reliable technical assistance—ideal for educational institutions seeking a predictable, cost-effective path to robust data protection.

  • Single-instance on-premise protection with a straightforward renewal model. The Simple Add On is designed for compact deployments or lab environments where a dedicated backup solution is required for one server or system instance, delivering reliable backup and recovery without complexity. The 2-year term helps institutions budget with confidence, avoiding frequent renewal interruptions and ensuring uninterrupted data protection for critical academic workloads.
  • Academic pricing through the Veritas ALP (Academic Licensing Program). This offering provides educational institutions with cost-efficient access to enterprise-grade backup capabilities. The ALP pricing makes it easier for universities, colleges, and schools to deploy and maintain essential protection across campus infrastructures, supporting research data, student records, and administrative systems while staying within budget constraints.
  • Essential Support included. The license renewal comes with essential support to help IT teams install, configure, and operate Backup Exec effectively. This coverage typically includes access to Veritas technical resources, updates, and ongoing assistance to resolve issues quickly, reducing downtime and ensuring backups run as intended across diverse environments.
  • On-premise deployment with broad backup capabilities. Veritas Backup Exec integrates backup, recovery, and disaster recovery workflows for physical and virtual environments, enabling protection of servers, application data, file shares, and databases. The Simple Add On aligns with existing infrastructure, allowing seamless integration with familiar storage targets, media libraries, and retention policies while maintaining a clear licensing scope for a single instance.
  • Value-driven features and compliance readiness. Beyond core backups, Backup Exec supports encryption, incremental backups, deduplication-aware storage optimization, granular restores, and centralized administration. Coupled with academic pricing and a two-year license period, institutions gain stronger protection governance, easier compliance reporting, and predictable renewal cycles to support long-term data resilience across campus operations.

How to install Veritas Backup Exec Simple Add On + Essential Support

  • Prepare your environment: Verify that your hardware and operating system meet Veritas Backup Exec requirements for a single-instance deployment. Ensure you have administrator access on the target server, updated drivers, and a reliable network connection to your chosen storage destinations.
  • Obtain and apply your license: Access your Veritas ALP account or the license delivery method provided with the Academic program. Retrieve the 2-year renewal license for a single instance and prepare any activation keys or license files required by the installer.
  • Install the core Backup Exec components: Run the installer on the designated on-premise server, selecting the Simple Add On option for a single instance. Follow on-screen prompts to configure initial components such as the media server, remote agents (if needed), and storage targets.
  • Activate the license and enable Essential Support: During or after installation, input the license key or mount the license file as directed. Confirm that Essential Support is active for access to updates, resources, and technical assistance during the 2-year term.
  • Configure backup sets and targets: Define data sources to protect (servers, file shares, databases, virtual machines, and applications as supported), choose storage destinations, set retention policies, and enable necessary encryption and deduplication options to optimize space and performance.
  • Schedule and verify backups: Create regular backup jobs with appropriate frequencies (daily, weekly, or custom) and perform initial test backups. Run a verification restore to validate data integrity and ensure recoverability across the protected environment.
  • Establish operational best practices: Implement role-based access control, confirm firewall and network settings allow required backup traffic, and set up alerting for backup failures or storage concerns. Plan for periodic policy reviews to adapt to changes in campus workloads or data growth.
  • Monitor and maintain: Regularly review backup logs, verify success rates, and apply updates released under Essential Support. Maintain a robust recovery plan, including periodic disaster recovery drills and tested restore procedures to meet academic data protection requirements.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What does the 2-year license renewal cover?
A: The 2-year term covers continued use of the Veritas Backup Exec Simple Add On for a single instance within on-premise deployments, along with Essential Support access during the term. Upon expiration, renewal is typically required to maintain ongoing protection and support, with pricing aligned to the ALP terms for the educational institution.
  • Q: Is this license suitable for academic environments?
A: Yes. The product is explicitly offered under the Veritas Academic Licensing Program (ALP), designed to provide educational institutions with affordable, scalable protection for campus data and research workloads while simplifying procurement and compliance considerations.
  • Q: How many servers or instances can be protected?
A: The license expressly covers 1 instance. If more coverage is required, additional licenses or higher-tier offerings would need to be evaluated and procured.
  • Q: What does Essential Support include?
A: Essential Support typically includes access to Veritas technical resources, product updates, and assistance during the license term to help install, configure, and troubleshoot backup and recovery operations. Specific service levels and response times are defined by Veritas and the ALP terms.
  • Q: Can I use this on multiple operating systems or virtual environments?
A: The Simple Add On is designed for on-premise use with a single instance, and Backup Exec generally supports a range of Windows-based servers, virtual environments, and common storage targets. For multi-platform needs or more complex environments, consider higher-tier licenses or additional components compatible with Backup Exec.
  • Q: How do I renew after the 2-year term?
A: Renewal is typically managed through the same ALP channel used for initial purchasing. The renewal process would re-establish a new term with updated pricing and terms as offered under the ALP for academic customers, ensuring continued access to updates and support.

It gets the job done.
Model: iPad 9th/8th/7th, Model: iPad 9th/8th/7th
It isn't too difficult to install, but no matter how hard i tried, I still got some bubbles under the screen. It doesn't feel exactly like writing on paper, but it is much more comfortable than writing on the glossy screen. After i did some writing on the screen, the screen got sime marks that looked like scratches, but it seems to be some kind of dust that comes off the scree, i wiped it off and it disappeared. Now everything on the screen looks pixelated.

After Wasting Money on Kids Tablets… I got these. *Demo Video with 2 Devices*
Color: Gray, Size: 128 GB, Style: Tab A11+, Color: Gray, Size: 128 GB, Style: Tab A11+
I originally bought this tablet for my younger daughter, and after a full year of daily use, I ended up buying it again — and then a third time. Both of my kids (ages 7 and 14) now use the exact same tablet, just with different setups. And honestly? It’s been a much better choice than any “kids tablet” we’ve tried in the past. 🧠 Why I chose this over a kids tablet: I’ve purchased multiple kids-specific tablets before, and they were a waste of money. They were: slow to load limited to preset apps low storage restricted controls frustrating to use overall With this, I can: 👉 set my own parental controls 👉 allow only what I want 👉 still give my kids a fully functional device It’s a normal tablet — and that’s exactly why it works better. 👩‍👧‍👧 Real-life use (2 kids, same tablet) Both of my daughters use this daily, but in completely different ways: 7-year-old (1 year of use): YouTube (including shorts — no buffering issues) Kids games (Google Play) School work Taking photos 14-year-old (new user): Drawing (Ibis Paint X) Internet browsing Occasional games It handles BOTH without any issues. ⚡ Performance & usability Fast, smooth loading — no lag for everyday use Can run multiple apps/tabs easily No overheating, even with extended use Strong, stable WiFi connection Great battery life (lasts hours of use) Charges from 0–100% in about 2 hours It feels like using a large phone — everything is familiar and easy to navigate. 🖥️ Display & design Full 11” screen Clear, bright graphics Sleek, slim, lightweight design Extremely portable Great for videos, drawing, reading, and general use. ✍️ Input & compatibility Works well with fingertips, stylus, and S Pen Access to Google Play Store Syncs with Samsung account Can connect with other Samsung devices 📦 Storage & expandability 128GB internal storage Supports microSD (if needed) We’ve comfortably had: 25–30 apps/games installed before needing to clear space 📸 Camera Decent quality Perfectly fine for kids taking photos/videos 🔌 Small things to know Comes with USB-C cord, but no wall adapter You’ll need your own charging block Final Thoughts This is not marketed as a kids tablet — and that’s exactly why it works so well for kids. It’s: faster more flexible more reliable and something they won’t outgrow quickly After a full year of use and multiple purchases, I can confidently say: This has been one of the best tech purchases I’ve made for my kids. ❤️ My 14-year-old is just starting to explore digital art, and immediately began working on her very first piece using this tablet and a stylus. Watching her sit down and just… create without struggling with the tools was honestly the most impressive part for me. No lag, no weird pressure issues, no frustration — it felt natural to her right away. As a parent, that moment alone made this feel worth it. It turned something new and intimidating into something she was excited about instantly. She spent a total of 19 hours on her drawing. ⭐ I included a video showing how both of my kids use the same tablet differently, along with the different case setups we use. The first tablet is 1 year old, the second tablet is brand new.

Thin, Light, Very Functional - Fantastic tablet
Color: Gray, Size: 256 GB, Style: Tab A11+, Color: Gray, Size: 256 GB, Style: Tab A11+
First off you only get a tablet, an USB-C to USB-C cable, quickstart instructions and Sumsung care info. That's it. No charger, no nothing else. Even the screen doesn't come with a protector, the tablet itself comes in a fabric/paper like bag. So advice: Buy a screen protector and/or case for this tablet! It's very thin and light weight! The tablet itself is fantastic. It plays all the games so far I threw at it, even the graphic intense ones. Compared to some Chinese ripoffs, this shines like a champ. The 256 gigs of space is plenty and 8 gigs of ram help alot! Truly the tablet is great for my use - Playing games and watching videos. I'm a little upset for the fact that it doesn't come with any charging device, but my phone's charger works fine. The USB-C to USB-C cable may come in handy (but my old PRO12 tablet uses the older usb port). Overall I'm very pleased with it. The games I played on my Moto G phone play fantastic on the A11+ plus it can play much more. Also I don't stream so I put videos on the tablet. My old tablet I had to convert them to make the compatible. The A11+ and Android 16 shines here. It can play most all my videos without conversion, even 4k HDR videos natively! And the sound it great with four speakers as well! Only downfall is the warranty. When I registered the tablet says something about the country of origin so I don't have warranty for the tablet. Just remember to have a charger for it, screen protector and I recommend a case!

All you need in retirement
Color: Gray, Size: 256 GB, Style: Tab A11+
Great purchase in comparison with Fire and the Tab S. Does everything I need it to do: read books, email, pay bills, chat, etc. The price was right and it's a good solid tablet without too much complications. I have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone so both are complementary to each other. One comment, Samsung does not provide an actual plug, just the cable...not the best customer service act for sure but seems like all of them are doing it now. Otherwise, I'm pleased with it.
