Aimed at retail spaces, hotels, casinos, convention centers, exhibit and museum spaces, atriums, public transit locations, or any space with high ceilings and an open architectural style, the white Control 68HP from JBL is a dependable and very-high output pendant speaker with a coaxial two-way configuration, sporting an 8" composite-reinforced cone woofer and a 1" titanium dome compression driver for extremely potent sound. With a wide, consistent coverage of 110° and an innovative single-point suspension system that uses two galvanized steel cables for secure hanging and easy height adjustment, you can achieve an optimal sound in even the most reverberant and challenging of acoustical spaces.
The Control 68HP can handle plenty of power, with support for up to a peak power input of 1000W, and sports a 68W multitap transformer for supporting 70 or 100V distribution modes as well as direct 8-ohm operation. The IP44 weather rating ensures safe use in controlled outdoor environments where excessive moisture, dirt, and salt may damage lesser speakers. The suspension system is exceptionally reliable, and this speaker includes two 15' steel cables (one for the primary support and one for the safety backup), spring clips and Gripple-brand adjustable height cable fasteners for attaching to the speaker bracket, and two 2-pin Euroblock connectors, along with two rubber connector boots for covered exterior environments.
The system's 8" low-frequency driver features a polyamide composite-reinforced cone and a large 2" CCAW voice coil on a fiberglass voice coil former for high power and improved long-term reliability. The coaxially mounted 1" compression driver features a titanium dome with damped resonance and a Kapton voice coil former for enhanced long-term sound level capability combined with high-fidelity sound quality.
Control 68HP provides extremely consistent 110° constant directivity conical coverage. The coaxial driver's pole piece is internally milled to form a low-distortion throat while the cone forms the bell of a conically contoured constant directivity horn, resulting in extremely consistent sound character throughout the entire listening area.
Included are extra-long 15' high-tensile galvanized steel wire rope having spring clips for the loudspeaker end of the cable and UL listed cable fasteners for infinitely adjustable suspension
