This is an abstract painting of flowers in front of a house. This painting is inspired by a periwinkle hydrangea blooming in front of a light blue house in Portland, Oregon.
Every summer I fall in love all over again with Portland and its yards overflowing with flowers. On my walks to and from work I pause frequently to “stop and smell the roses” – and photograph the various blooming flowers. This summer, I was particularly drawn to all the hydrangeas in my neighborhood and specifically to the colors of hydrangeas against colorful houses.
