The GRK Series from Middle Atlantic is a premier welded gangable rack system designed for ultra-dense, multi-bay installations. Engineered for reliability in demanding AV, broadcast, data, and IT environments, the GRK 48U x 36" deep rack delivers a compact footprint without sacrificing capacity. Its narrow, modular design is optimized for high-density video cable bundles, enabling cleaner cable management and easier service access in rooms with tight layouts. Whether you’re building a multi-bay video wall, a distributed AV system, or a server and networking enclosure, the GRK Series provides robust construction, flexible lacing options, and seamless expansion by simply pairing adjacent units for wider configurations. This rack is the ideal choice when space is at a premium, but performance and organization cannot be compromised.

  • High-capacity, space-efficient design: With 48 rack units (RU) of usable space and a generous 36" depth, the GRK Series accommodates a wide range of equipment—from large-format video processors and switchers to dense server and networking gear—while preserving generous cable management room behind front rails.
  • Welded, gangable construction for modular growth: The GRK is built as a rugged, welded frame that can be ganged with adjacent GRK units to form a single, wide enclosure. This modularity makes it easy to scale your installation as needs evolve, without replacing existing enclosures.
  • Optimized for high-density cable bundles: Designed with narrow bays and thoughtful internal geometry, the GRK Series excels at routing and organizing large volumes of video and data cables. It supports clean, predictable paths for power and signal runs, reducing interference and improving airflow.
  • Flexible cable-lacing options for clean, scalable management: Choose either horizontal or vertical lacing configurations to suit your workflow. The rack’s design supports neat, scalable cable routing that simplifies maintenance, upgrades, and re-patching as systems change.
  • Solid frame top and bottom deliver robust protection: The GRK features solid top and bottom frames, providing a rigid, durable enclosure that keeps equipment secure and minimizes wobble during installation and servicing—even in high-traffic environments.

How to install Middle Atlantic GRK Series Rack, 48 RU, 36"D

Preparing to install a GRK rack involves planning for growth, ensuring solid support, and organizing cables from the outset. Begin by assessing your space and determining the number of GRK units needed to achieve the desired width. Since the GRK is gangable, you can pair multiple units to form a larger enclosure as your system expands, avoiding rework and minimizing downtime.

Before mounting, verify the floor or mounting surface is level and capable of supporting the total weight of the rack and all installed equipment. If you plan to stack multiple GRK units, establish a layout that allows for consistent cable routing and airflow between bays. Establish a cable management strategy early—decide whether you will use horizontal or vertical lacing and identify the closest power, network, and video pathways to minimize cross-talk and interference.

Step 1: Unpack and inspect each GRK unit for shipping damage, ensuring all hardware and accessories are present. Step 2: If you are connecting multiple GRK units, align them on the floor in the intended configuration before lifting to minimize handling in tight spaces. Step 3: Install the front mounting rails (19" EIA standard) on each unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring rails are plumb and evenly spaced to accommodate equipment widths. Step 4: Secure the rack sections to nearby supports or together with the supplied gang hardware, forming the planned multi-bay configuration. Step 5: Begin populating equipment from the bottom up to maintain stability, leaving sufficient space for cable management behind front rails. Install any rack panels, cable management accessories, and lacing hardware as you go. Step 6: Route power, video, and data cables along the chosen lacing strategy—horizontal for quick access and clean topside runs, or vertical to maximize vertical cable density—keeping cables neatly organized to facilitate airflow and future changes. Step 7: Double-check cable clearances and equipment access; test all devices for proper operation and verify that airflow is unobstructed. Step 8: Create a maintenance plan that includes periodic re-lacing, cleaning of dust filters (if applicable), and routine inspection of rack mounting hardware to avoid loosening over time. By following these steps, you’ll achieve a professional, reliable installation that scales with your evolving AV and IT needs.

Well made and perform well, a little constricting
Size: Medium, Color: Black Assortment (6-pairs)
These socks definitely keep most of the moisture away from my feet, even in wet conditions, which is why I bought them. I am diabetic, though, and the recommendation is to wear socks that don't constrict at any point. These have a tight band around the opening that while it is not uncomfortable on, leaves a mark when I take them off. So far it's been ok, but if you have any kind of swelling in your feet or ankles these would probably not be the best. My foot measures size 8 and I wear size 9 Brooks running shoes. The socks fit me just right but based on the size of the opening and the overall length, I wouldn't think they would fit anyone more than a size larger. Overall well made and perform well as you would expect from this brand.
