Sparco Helmet RJ-I (003369B)The Sparco helmet line is a result of over 40 years of research and development experience, including wind tunnel testing. The new range was designed to meet the requirements of the new SNELL SA2020 and FIA 8859 2015 ratings. The 2020 type approval introduces new impact requirements, the helmets need to dissipate large amounts of energy in different ways. To meet these requirements Sparco is introducing new innovations for driver safety and comfort.

The 2020 type-approval introduces new impact requirements, the helmets need to dissipate large amounts of energy in different ways. To meet these requirements Sparco is introducing new innovations for driver safety and comfort. All shells now have layers of carbon-Kevlar for greater strength. The helmets have also been wind-tunnel tested to maximize exterior vent placement and flow. The EPS interiors and padding have also been redesigned for increased airflow and driver comfort. Sparco also introduces a new size: Medium/Large. This M/L size takes advantage of using the smaller shell which is lighter and more compact.Â

RJ-iÂ
The open face RJ-i features a Carbon-Kevlar / Fiberglass construction which results in a light-weight helmet. The RJ-i is complete with communications pre-installed with a flexible boom mic, comfortable ear cup speakers and mil-spec NEXUS connector. The RJ-i has a new redesigned interior with a soft quilted liner that is removable and available in red or black. The RJ-i has Hans clips preinstalled. The RJ-i is available in sizes XS-XXL.

This suit had me questioning whether the manufacturer had ever actually seen a human child before. The pants were SO long — like they were tailored for a 9-year-old with 100 feet of shin. 😂 I had to hem them significantly just to make them wearable for a normal boy.
The bow tie was also a letdown. Ours may have arrived defective, but it only seemed to have one hook with nowhere for it to actually attach, so we ended up improvising with the fabric loop. Not exactly the polished wedding-ready moment I was hoping for.
The shirt was probably the highlight. It has a subtle textured pattern that makes it feel a little more unique than a standard dress shirt, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the fabric itself is stiff and not particularly comfortable. Overall, the whole set feels pretty cheap quality-wise.
BUT… he’s 9. He’ll outgrow it before the next wedding invitation hits the mailbox anyway. 😂 For one day of looking like a dashing young gentleman instead of a tiny tornado in sweatpants, it got the job done. Just definitely not something I’d recommend for peak summer wedding season unless your child enjoys marinating in polyester.
