Introducing the Nuvo WindStars 2 Class set of jSaxes

Get Nuvo into your classroom with this set of jSaxes. Designed specifically for the beginner woodwind market, the jSax has a traditional fingering system and allows newcomers to develop embouchure and tuning skills that will be directly transferable to a full-size saxophone.

Following the Nuvo trend, the jSax is pitched in C so can be easily integrated with your Nuvo orchestra, and also makes it compatible with all WindStars education resources!

What is Nuvo WindStars?

Written by Brittany Bauman and edited by Robert Sheldon, the WindStars Series is a simple, effective, and affordable way for elementary school kids to experience the joy of playing music together. Through WindStars, children learn to play a musical instrument and develop a life-long love of music at an early age. WindStars is a 3-level, book based program with supporting materials including videos, backing tracks and print files available to download for free at Nuvo WindStars. The instructional videos are also available on the WindStars YouTube channel.

Designed to support teachers

The WindStars curriculum has been completely designed with teachers in mind, even if the teacher is not a woodwind or brass specialist – the teacher book and website will tell you everything you need to know! This flexible general music teaching method can be adapted to work alongside any existing music program, or as a standalone complete package. The methodology takes a standards-based, whole child approach with a focus on engaging and joyful musical experiences coupled with transferable instrumental skills which will be useful in later musical life.

WindStars 2: Transition to Notation

WindStars 2 is suitable for Clarineo, jFlute, jHorn and jSax, aimed at students from 6 – 10 years old. Completion of WindStars 1 or a general musical introduction are recommended before beginning this course.

In Transition to Notation, the second instalment of the WindStars program, the skills acquired in WindStars 1 and/or general musical education serve as the foundation for the course. Students transition to standard musical notation. Essential woodwind and brass skills are introduced and reinforced throughout.

The WindStars 2 Class set of jSaxes consists of:

Best series on the market
Format: Paperback
Every book in these series (Who Was, What Was, Where Is) is worth adding to your library. In my classroom they are the ones that have been read over and over. Students sign up to check out the newest releases even before they have arrived. I am collecting them all and have over 125 to date. So interesting, I read them as soon as they arrive.

Very good. Also includes some information on other aspects of Roman life besides just the uses of the Colosseum. Wish the author had given more details about the Colosseum itself - especially the system of pulleys and underground chambers.
