'How to Enter the Art World'. Written by Hettie Judah with illustration by Jemima Burrill. 192pp, hardback, 125 x 190mm.

Can you make it without going to art school? Can you get back into the art world after years away? What does ‘success’ actually mean?

How to Enter the Art World… is a grown-up guide for any artist whose life is complicated, demanding and, well, human. Informed by years spent working with artists and dozens of candid interviews, it is a myth-busting bonanza full of insights, ideas and inspiration. Frank, funny and occasionally forthright, this is your friend on the path (back) into the art world.

‘Vital guidance for all artists. Empowering, encouraging and enlightening. Hettie Judah writes with such clarity and passion.’

Robert Diament, writer and broadcaster, Talk Art podcast

‘Accessible, reassuring, useful and funny… I loved this book so much and needed it so badly, I practically inhaled it!’

– Viv Albertine, musician, artist and author

I’ve worked in the arts for over thirty years, and this is the first time I've read something and thought this was written for me.

– Lou Mensah, founder of Shade Podcast and Shade Art Review

Hettie Judah writes with characteristic warmth and humour, but also great authority on a subject she knows well.

– Caroline Walker, artist

Decent for the price
Color: 2 Dark Brown, Color: 2 Dark Brown
Bought the color 2 thinking it would be brown but it’s almost Black (my own ignorance). I saw a YT vid by Kie Rashon where she sort of left the front of her hair out so I was hoping to do the same but it’s too dark for my hair (you can’t tell in the pics). I would recommend checking Kie out on YT for more details. I do like it though so I will probably give this one to my sister and reorder a different color. Wish they provided pics of how the wig in other colors look. Edit: So I repurchased this piece in DR Hazelnut Brown (the lighter color). I took some leave out in the front so please note that’s my hairline, not the wig’s. It blended well with my hair color. My texture is a little curlier but I just did a braid out on the front to help it blend. Wig tangles very easily. I’m going to experiment with co-washing to see if that reverts it to its origami condition.

Not this one
Color: 1B Off Black
After buying my first Outre wig I have bought several since until I bought this particular one and I was disappointed from the moment I open the package. The look, texture, fullness, or lack of fullness was very disappointing. The wig only cost 30.00 dollars but had I bought it in a wig shop it probably would have cost much more, but when you order online that is a chance that you take. I wouldn't recommend this particular wig if you are looking for the look that the picture portrays. Try one of Outre's others.

Doesn’t last long
Color: DR HAZELNUT BROWN, Color: DR HAZELNUT BROWN
I love a synthetic wavy wig but this one didn’t even last the entire weekend like most do. Look very cute the first day but after that it just didn’t do what I needed it to do any
