Vinyl LP pressing. "Ears Are Filled With Wonder, the debut release from the duo of pedal steel player Heather Leigh and reedist Peter Brötzmann, blows the old adage about improvised music somehow not being best appreciated via the recordings to beautiful pieces. This is a music that demands re-visiting, that seems to alter, slightly, every time it is played, with new details emerging, new relationships of tone and style, new romance, even. Recorded during a mammoth stint in Kraków, Poland, where Brötzmann and Leigh played as part of big bands, trios, quartets, and duos, this duo performance represents the diamond heart of the sessions, an improvised set that bears little relation to what either of the players has achieved outside of it's prodigious gravity. We mentioned romance and really Ears Are Filled With Wonder, a play on a line from the poet Kenneth Patchen, showcases the full reach of Brötzmann's rebel lyricism, his lover man style, now smoky, seductive, late night, now roaring and vibrating with energy. Leigh plays it extremely subtly, sometimes fixing on the most suggestive detail and from there spinning luscious webs of repeat-time bliss that make for some of the most psychedelic and otherworldly settings of strings and horn. Elsewhere the two of them tear the roof off with tactile fuzz and horn ascensions. It's a music of organic depth, of endlessly evocative unfolding, as themes bloom and sigh and disappear and arise and it feels curiously out of time, even as both players push their instruments into futuristic configurations. As such it doesn't sit neatly in either players' extensive catalogs.... Ears Are Filled With Wonder is a coming together of two of the most original voices on their respective instruments and the title reflects the joyful uncovering of a whole new way of listening and relating. Indeed, it might well be the first ever freely improvised electric pedal steel and saxophone duet ever put to tape. Either way it is one of the most startlingly beautiful combinations of players and temperaments to orbit the European jazz scene in years. And this is only the beginning. So hold tight." -Moshe Idel, Ronda, Spain, February 2016

Weight Gain??
These pills are a great buy considering the ingredients aside from the coloring. Has anyone else experienced weight gain?? I'm trying to figure out if it's these vitamins or the other vitamins I'm taking.

The transformative power of stories, not checklists
Format: Hardcover
As someone familiar with previous writings from Keller and Inazu, I was eager to get this book--it did not disappoint. Both gentlemen are serious scholars, so one might have expected a weighty or dense theological treatise. Instead, they oriented the project around stories--individual stories that faithfully reflect personal versions of the grand Story of redemption, hope, beauty, truth, and justice. Rather than offering long lists of direct recommendations to other people (whose contexts will inevitably be different), these stories target the soul. As such, these stories offer vivid and practical insights to my particular context, but they do so indirectly, authentically, and inspirationally. As Keller has written elsewhere, no one changes his behavior because he's told he needs to change--he must be SHOWN. This book doesn't just tell us what authentic Christianity looks like in our polarized world, it shows us--and it does so exceptionally well. Highly recommended if you want to challenge your soul with diverse renderings of faithful living. Direct application to your life and specific recommendations for action will no doubt emerge, but they'll come from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit working through the power of Story.

So helpful and inspiring, too
Format: Hardcover
I bought both a hard copy and listened to it on Audible. As someone who is seeking to live faithfully in a world of difference in my workplace and community, this was an incredibly helpful book. I also can't help but think just how perfect this book is for our moment of national reckoning around race. NOW more than ever, folks need to read this book! I found myself weeping during Tom Lin's chapter, as I found resonance in my own experience growing up in an immigrant family, and I found myself incredibly inspired through that and so many other chapters as well. Other reviewers have critiqued the lack of specificity...for me, that was helpful, because everyone's context is so different. I was still able to take away what I needed. These are very thoughtful believers who come from very different walks of life, and it was a treat just to see the world from their view each chapter. Thank you, John Inazu and Tim Keller, for the rich contribution of this book to the Christian conversation about our place in the public sphere.

Great Book
Format: Paperback
I am reading this book for our Sabbath school study. Great reading. Submissions are made by real people trying to live right in a wrong, so wrong world. Very applicable to real life.
