How to install Intel RAID Controller RS3SC008

Installing the RS3SC008 is straightforward in servers and workstations that require robust RAID functionality. Follow these steps to ensure a proper, reliable setup and configuration:

Step 1: Prepare the system. Power down the server, unplug all cables, and ground yourself to prevent static discharge. Remove the chassis cover to access the motherboard and available PCIe slots. Verify that there is an appropriate PCIe 3.0 x8 (or larger) slot ready for the add-in card. Have your drive backplane or cables ready for the external ports on the RS3SC008.

Step 2: Insert the card. Align the RS3SC008 with the chosen PCIe slot and firmly seat the connector. Gently push the card until it is fully engaged and secure it with the chassis screw to prevent movement during operation. Ensure there are no obstructing components that could impede airflow or cable routing.

Step 3: Connect storage interfaces. Attach the eight external SAS/SATA cables to the appropriate backplane or drives as dictated by your storage configuration. Plan cabling to minimize crossover and maintain clean, organized routing for heat dissipation and maintenance. If you’re using a backplane, ensure compatibility with SAS 12Gb/s and SATA 6Gb/s drives for optimal performance.

Step 4: Power up and configure. Replace the chassis cover and reconnect power. Power on the server and enter the RAID BIOS or management utility to ensure the RS3SC008 is detected. Install or update drivers and management software as needed to access the controller’s configuration interface. This step is essential for creating and managing RAID arrays effectively.

Step 5: Create and tune arrays. In the RAID management interface, configure your desired RAID levels (0, 1, 5, 10, 50, 60), set stripe sizes, and opt for hot-spare policies if available. Initialize the arrays and then format them within the operating system. After arrays are established, monitor health and performance with the included management tools to maintain data integrity and prevent performance degradation over time.

Step 6: Validate and monitor. Run post-install checks to verify that all disks are online and that performance metrics align with expectations. Set up alerting for drive failures, rebuilds, and thermal conditions to maintain uptime and reduce the risk of unexpected outages. Regularly review logs and SMART data to catch issues before they impact production workloads.

Absolutely Amazing Price, Great Quality
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
I was very shocked woth the quality and size of these book, I was fortunate to purchase them on sale for under $40 and I have to say I'm impressed. Both book are outstanding pretty thick, and have alot if heft to them, they make excellent additions to the bookshelf, shrine, or collection, and are a mist for any Elder Scrolls or ESO fan. (Bonus if you have the Skyrim Library books, they are the exact same size and fit beautifully on the shelf together out of slipcase) Breaking things down per book, The Land features 231 pages of illustration, and information on various factions, locations, houses (like Ravenwatch), alliances, etc. It groups alot of the information based of alliance location, the contents lists things in order of History, Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, Ebonheart Pact, and Creatures. Something like House Ravenwatch would be located in the Daggerfall section, since in game that's where you can find them. There's so many sub categories in this book, alongside high detail it's breathtaking, having the text paired right by the beautiful artwork makes for a great experience, and we'll worth a read. Moving on, The Lore. The Lore is broken up across 228 pages, again listed in the contents as Racial Motifs, Lore, Magicka, Warfare and Factions, Oblivion, and Deadra. The Lore focuses more on the mystical aspect of The Elder Scrolls, passages about the Spellcrafting and the Arcana, to the fundamentals of Alchemy, whereas the Land focuses on the History of the universe. Learning the ruminations and origins of Magic, the Aetherious, and Oblivion, fans of Micheal Kirkbride's writing and appreciation for the mystic and arcane will appreciate this book, as it delves into Deadric Princess, there powers, the Dwemer and how they harnessed the powers of Aetherious, and more. There are some what i would say, misplaced, texts here, like the history of the Fighters Guild, Mace Etiquette, and Heavy Armor Forging, although good reads, they don't fit the over arching theme of the book as a whole, but are still appreciated. Again illustrations litter the book, with fascinating art of Alchemical ingredients and potions, to amazing renditions of magical forces or spells, or the haunting halls of the now ruined Ayleid empire, the artwork is simply stunning and detailed. I'd have to say that these writings are definitely worth the price, and of your reading this while it's on sale I'd say pull the trigger and just get them, it's an great price for an amazing product, and you won't be let down. Things like this make me wish that Microsoft/Zenimax doubled down on the books, and published more like this.

Beautiful and informative
Format: Hardcover
I've been playing this game since it came out and I can't keep all of it straight. I mean there are a lot of lorebooks to go through, but not much structural cohesion on how or even if you encounter them. This collection almost looks like some great librarian gathered all the lore books and curated the collection into an order that makes sense. This isn't a comprehensive overview of the world. Molog Bal is barely mentioned, for example. Certainly no section dedicated to the planemeld and all that. This is closer to an encyclopedia of things you might finish the main quest and still not know, or might easily forget. I know I forgot half the Kajiti pantheon. I mean Jone and Jode, yeah, but some of the others not so much. This is a great addition to the library of any fan. The cover is beautiful. I prefer ebooks generally, and wish this were available on Kindle as well, but I can see the intent on a book that is this much a work of art. Now if only someone would start publishing the Investigator Vale novels.

A perfect collector’s item for any TES fan!
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Disclaimer: This is a collector’s item. The content within these books can be accessed in game. If This turns you off, then this product wasn’t made for you. GOOD: The quality of the cover and pages are worthy the premium price tag. The new book smell is top notch! The artwork is so splendid, I found myself starring into them for several minutes, to appreciate the finer details. BAD: None for me. I played TES 4, and TES 5 more than any other game by a few hundred hours. I only recently became addicted to Elder Scrolls Online, and decided to treat my emphatic love of TES’s with these books, and I am quite pleased with my purchase. Some of the lore I had come across in game already, but due to keeping up with other players in my party, I wasn’t able to devote time to reading it, so it was great come back to it. I’ve been reading through these slowly, usually right after playing a couple hours before bed, which makes for a fun way to decompress. I plan on ordering the Skyrim equivalent lore books. Great product!!!

Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Now the first thing I want to mention is the art style, i am absolutely in love with it, it's so sleek and beautiful just everything about it, so much loveand care was put into these books and as someone who loves skyrim it's just perfect. The lore is wonderful and the stories are just as amazing, it can be boring for me but that's just due to my adhd. The quality of the pages are strong and thick they wont tear by just fliping a page. the box itself is lovely just slide the booksnright on in and they fit perfectly! So for anyone who loves skyrim this box set is highly recommended
