This Seiko Quartz Type II from 1977 has a sharp case, chocolate brown dial and gold accents that work surprisingly well together.

It is a true new old stock example and still comes with the original price tag, now slightly worn from age. The case, bracelet and dial are in excellent condition with crisp finishing throughout. The only thing to note is a small scratch in the crystal at two o’clock.

The original bracelet is still tight and includes the factory extension. The day display is bilingual with Japanese Kanji  and English as options and the quickset functions work as they should.

The quartz crisis
The "quartz crisis" was a major turning point in the watch industry during the 1970s and 1980s, driven by the rise of quartz technology. Companies like Seiko led the way, offering watches that were more accurate, more affordable, and easier to maintain than traditional mechanical models.
