artist biography
Carl Ernst Gunnar Stenberg was born September 11, 1919 in Helsingborg. He was a Swedish painter and illustrator.
Stenberg studied at the Skånska målarskolan (Skåne Painting School) from 1951 to 1952 and during several study trips in Europe and America. He exhibited in multiple Swedish cities including Gothenburg, Umeå, Halmstad, Linköping, Borås, Trelleborg, often alongside with Romanian/Swedish artist Louis Zelig (1922-1993). He also exhibited at the Typografföreningen (Typographers' Association) in Stockholm.
Stenberg painted landscapes and city scenes in oil. He is represented at Folkets hus in Gothenburg, Helsingborg and Halmstad.
Stenberg passed away in Malmö on February 19, 1981 at the age of 6
