For the SM-5-C, Kali Audio pulled out all the stops. The speaker comes loaded with three drivers: a 5-inch woofer, a 4-inch midrange, and a 1” coaxial tweeter. The flux stabilized woofer delivers deep, powerful, and distortion-free bass. From there, the 4-inch midrange and coaxial titanium tweeter deliver lifelike imaging, thanks to the midrange driver’s optimized waveguide profile. Each driver is engineered to handle high SPLs with ease without sacrificing their smooth response and vanishingly low distortion. The three drivers, together with the low-noise port tube, deliver immaculate stereo imaging with a smooth response. Thoughtful touches elevate the design
Digging deeper into the SM-5-C’s design reveals several features that enhance sound quality. First, the low diffraction baffle eliminates on-axis diffraction, which results in spectacular stereo imaging. The 3-way coincident architecture features optimized crossovers for less distortion and optimal directivity. While the crossover network is optimized for bi-wire use, it performs admirably in single-wire setups. As if that’s not enough, Kali also offers tuning files for LEA Connect series amplifiers to optimize the amp’s response to fit your system.

Mounts wherever you need it
Aside from mounting it on a speaker stand the SM-5-C comes with mounting holes. The mounting holes are located on both the bottom and top of the monitor and are laid out in a 4.25- x 2-inch bolt pattern. Its lightweight chassis and baked-in mounting possibilities make the SM-5-C the perfect choice for immersive sound setups. Kali Audio recommends mounting the SM-5-C studio monitor with a U-bracket from Triad-Orbit.
