Engineered for modern security networks, the TRENDnet TPE-3012LS is a high-performance, managed PoE+ switch designed to power and streamline IP surveillance systems. This smart surveillance switch combines 8 PoE+ ports, 2 standard Gigabit uplink ports, and 2 SFP slots into a compact, rack-ready unit that delivers reliable power, fast data transfer, and robust management features. With a 110W PoE budget, Long Range PoE+ support, and ONVIF compatibility, it’s the ideal backbone for multi-camera deployments, indoor or outdoor-friendly configurations, and scalable security architectures. Whether you’re building a small business surveillance solution or expanding an enterprise-grade network, the TPE-3012LS provides the performance, energy efficiency, and administrative control you need to protect people, property, and assets.

  • 8-Port PoE+ power for cameras and devices: Eight Gigabit PoE+ ports supply up to 30W per port for IP cameras, wireless APs, and other PoE+ devices, enabling flexible camera placement without extra power outlets.
  • Comprehensive uplink and fiber options: Two non-PoE Gigabit ports and two 100/1000 Mbps SFP slots offer versatile uplink configurations, enabling rapid aggregation and long‑haul connections with fiber or copper links.
  • 40-LED visibility with 4-Digit PoE display: Monitor total power budget, available power, and per-port consumption at a glance, simplifying power management and planning for large camera deployments.
  • Smart surveillance management with ONVIF compatibility: The switch is optimized for surveillance environments, supports ONVIF-compliant devices, and provides centralized control for cameras and video streams with reliable QoS and VLAN segmentation.
  • Advanced networking features for reliability and security: VLAN, QoS, LACP, and robust security settings help prioritize critical video traffic, prevent network congestion, and ensure resilience in busy security networks.

How to Install TRENDnet TPE-3012LS

  • Plan your deployment: Map camera locations and determine which devices will connect to the 8 PoE+ ports versus the uplink ports, ensuring adequate PoE budget distribution across cameras.
  • Connect uplinks: Connect your network core (router or core switch) to the two Gigabit uplink ports to provide access to the broader network and to the NVR/recording server.
  • Power the cameras and devices: Plug PoE-enabled IP cameras, wireless access points, and other compatible devices into the 8 PoE+ ports, observing the power budget per device and total available power displayed on the 4-digit PoE LED readout.
  • Configure VLAN and QoS: Access the switch’s web GUI to create VLANs for camera traffic, assign ports to appropriate VLANs, and configure QoS policies to prioritize video streams over less critical traffic.
  • Monitor and refine: Use the LED display and GUI to monitor power usage, port status, and link activity. Enable PoE scheduling if supported to optimize energy consumption during off-peak hours.
  • Security hardening: Implement management VLANs, enable strong admin credentials, and restrict remote management to trusted networks to safeguard your surveillance infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the expected PoE budget for the TRENDnet TPE-3012LS? The switch provides up to a 110W PoE budget, which supports multiple PoE+ devices such as high-resolution IP cameras and wireless access points in typical surveillance deployments. The 4-digit PoE LED display helps you track real-time power consumption and remaining budget across ports.
  • Which devices are compatible with ONVIF on this switch? The TPE-3012LS is designed to work with ONVIF-compliant IP cameras and related surveillance devices, ensuring interoperable management and streamlined integration with compatible NVRs and video management software.
  • Can I use the SFP slots for fiber connections? Yes. The two SFP slots support 100/1000 Mbps SFP modules, enabling fiber or copper uplinks to your core network, a distant NVR, or a storage array, depending on your deployment needs.
  • Is VLAN supported, and how does it help security? The switch supports VLAN segmentation to isolate camera traffic from other network traffic, reducing congestion and enhancing security by preventing unauthorized access across different network segments.
  • Does this switch support link aggregation? Yes. LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol) helps you bond multiple links for greater bandwidth and failover resiliency between switch ports and uplinks or connected devices.
  • What kind of management options are available? The TRENDnet TPE-3012LS offers a web-based GUI for configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, along with SNMP for centralized network management and monitoring in larger environments.

Capsules Are Too Large and Have a Strong Plastic Smell
Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1)
I’ve purchased this product twice, but the capsule design is a big downside for me. The capsules are very large and difficult to swallow. On top of that, there is a noticeable plastic-like smell from the capsules, which is quite distracting and unpleasant. It makes taking them every day uncomfortable. The product itself may work as intended, but the capsule size and odor seriously affect the overall experience. I wish they would improve the capsule material or offer a smaller or odor-free option. If you are sensitive to smells or have trouble swallowing large capsules, keep this in mind before buying.

....limited information about how the average person...
Format: Kindle
Coverage of the earliest period does (of necessity through lack of records?) encompass rather a lot of conjecture and assumptions. There's certainly a good coverage of the period - but it can become rather dry as it cycles through successive rulers. There's limited information about how the average person lived during the time covered. Tended to skim past extended descriptions of fairy tales of ancient beliefs and convictions. The book occasionally reverts to mentions of much later personalities (such as Freud) and comparing them to characters of ancient China!

Not worth the paper it’s printed on.
Format: Paperback
I can’t say that I was expecting such a slim volume on 10,000 years of Chinese culture to be a work of rigorous scholarship, but I also wasn’t expecting it to be quite *this* dreadful. It is badly written to the point of being unreadable, and it is clear that no one thought to edit the document before publication. I made it about twenty pages in before I had to put it down. The entire thing reads like an Anthropology 101 term paper written by a first semester college freshman who hasn’t quite figured out how to back up claims with evidence yet.
