Inspired by the author's own experiences, Conceiving Histories brings together history, personal memoir, and illustration to investigate the culturally hidden experience of trying to conceive. In elegant, engaging prose, Isabel Davis explores the combination of myth, fantasy, science, and pseudo-science that the (un)reproductive body encounters in pursuit of a viable pregnancy. The book chronicles the trying-to-conceive lifecycle arc from sex education at school, through the desire to be a parent, into the specifics of trying and struggling to conceive. It also looks back at conception throughout history to open a new vista on what we live with today.
A central argument of Davis's is that historical people lived with the unknown just like we do but were more explicitly able to acknowledge it. In an age of assistive reproductive technologies, the act of embracing uncertainty seems difficult. Although the topic of not conceiving is potentially painful, this is not a grim book; more than grief, it is motivated by curiosity, wonder, compassion, and even humor. With 108 full-color illustrations by Anna Burel, Conceiving Histories is also a beautiful material object, an intentionally playful antidote and supplement to online search engines—the resort of so many embroiled in fertility challenges.

Weird garbage

Very strange fit, saw the reviews about weird fit but so many others said great fit so that's on me. Got them for under 10 bucks so hard to complain..... however..... Got 12 Long. They are at least a size too big but I generally do that to accommodate shrinking especially length. On what planet these would be considered long I dunno. I'm only 5'8". If you pull them up to where crotch is not sagging, barely to my ankles. Almost long enough if you want the crotch to droop several inches. Fit loose but comfortable in butt and thighs. The waist however is about 4 inches too big and gaps horribly. Almost like waist is actually wider than hips. Strange. Not skinny cut except for right at ankle. The left leg inseam is cut horribly crooked and runs down almost front of leg so altering them is not worth the trouble. They are fairly thick and do stretch, like the denim wash very much. So disappointed. So the great deal I thought I was getting was garbage . Should have know for that price they were unloading their trash

Perfect fit for 5'10

White jeans size 10 long fit perfectly. Im 5'10 130 pounds
Always have trouble with length and overall fit. These were on sale for less than 11$! Material has some stretch, not too much. I'm going to hang to dry don't want any shrinkage. Fit is less tight than an earlier version of these jeans.

Sexy Comfort Casual Appeal

This is a very sexy in a comfortable easy flowing dress. The material feels good on the skin. It is thin and lightweight although long sleeves you will definitely want to wear a jacket or coat with this if you are wearing this in the winter time. It is comfortable and I like the fit on me. I am 5'5 weigh 150 and have large bust size 34DDD I ordered a medium and it fits me well. No gapping at the front where the buttons meet. I think this is a nice Jean dress for the price and the quality is nice. I like it
