The Zebra LI2208 Best-In-Class Corded 1D Linear Imager redefines speed, accuracy, and reliability for everyday scanning tasks across retail, warehouse, manufacturing, and healthcare environments. Built with Zebra’s trusted imaging technology, this corded scanner delivers exceptional first-pass read rates on a wide array of 1D barcodes, whether printed on paper labels or displayed on the screens of smartphones, tablets, or computers. Its compact, ergonomic form fits naturally in the hand for extended shifts, while its rugged construction stands up to busy workdays and demanding workflows. The LI2208 is not just a scanner; it’s a versatile data capture solution designed to streamline checkouts, inventory cycles, asset tracking, and product authentication with minimal effort and maximal uptime. When speed matters and accuracy counts, this best-in-class 1D imager keeps the line moving and your data precise.

  • Lightning-fast 1D scanning reads 1D barcodes from labels and mobile screens with high first-pass accuracy, delivering instant results to reduce line times and boost checkout throughput across stores, warehouses, and manufacturing floors.
  • Comprehensive symbology support handles the most common barcodes, including UPC/EAN, Code 39, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, Codabar, MSI, and GS1 DataBar family, enabling reliable data capture in diverse supply chains from backroom to point of sale.
  • Screen-and-label versatility performs consistently whether the barcode is printed on paper labels or displayed on a mobile device’s screen, ensuring smooth omnichannel operations and reducing the need for multiple scanners.
  • Ergonomic, durable design offers a comfortable grip for all-day scanning, with a rugged build that withstands the rigors of busy retail aisles, warehouses, and healthcare workstations while maintaining precise performance over time.
  • Flexible deployment and easy configuration supports multiple interfaces (USB HID, USB Keyboard Wedge, RS232) for seamless integration with a wide range of systems, plus barcode-programming capabilities to tailor beeps, delays, and symbology settings without specialized IT support.

How to Install Zebra LI2208 Best-In-Class Corded 1D Linear Imager

  • Step 1 – Connect the scanner: Unpack the LI2208 and connect the included USB cable to a free USB port on your computer, POS terminal, or device. The scanner is powered through the USB connection, and a ready or steady light typically confirms that power is supplied and the host is detecting input.
  • Step 2 – Verify USB HID operation: In USB HID mode, most operating systems recognize the LI2208 as a keyboard input device. Open a text field and perform a test scan on a standard barcode; the scanner should inject the barcode data as keystrokes, exactly as if it had been typed.
  • Step 3 – Optional interface configuration: If your setup requires a different interface, scan the appropriate interface barcode from the LI2208 programming guide to switch to USB Keyboard Wedge, RS232, or other supported modes. This makes it easy to integrate with legacy systems or specialized equipment without additional adapters.
  • Step 4 – Adjust settings as needed: Use the built-in barcode programming feature to enable GS1 DataBar support, adjust beep patterns, set scan pause, or tweak imaging settings for your particular codes and lighting conditions. These adjustments can improve readability for damaged or densely packed barcodes and optimize user feedback for operators.
  • Step 5 – Test in production: Run a variety of real-world scans—short and long labels, dense 1D codes, and mobile-screen codes—to verify reliability across distances and surfaces. Confirm that the host software receives clean, gap-free data and that the desired interface remains stable during operation.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What barcodes can the LI2208 read?
A: The LI2208 is a 1D linear imager designed to read most common 1D barcodes, including UPC, EAN, Code 39, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, Codabar, MSI, and GS1 DataBar variants. It excels at fast, reliable reads on labels and can also capture codes displayed on screens of phones, tablets, and computers.
  • Q: Can it scan barcodes on mobile device screens?
A: Yes. The LI2208 reads 1D codes displayed on mobile screens just as efficiently as those on printed labels, supporting seamless omnichannel workflows from e-commerce fulfillment to curbside pickup.
  • Q: Do I need drivers to use the LI2208?
A: In USB HID mode, no additional drivers are required for most Windows, macOS, and Linux systems. If you switch to other interfaces like RS232 or USB Keyboard Wedge, you may need standard serial drivers or host configuration, but the setup remains straightforward with the included documentation.
  • Q: Where is the LI2208 best used?
A: It is ideal for retail checkout counters, grocery operations, warehouse receiving and put-away, manufacturing floor data capture, and healthcare environments where fast, accurate 1D scanning improves throughput and reduces errors.
  • Q: How should I maintain this scanner?
A: Keep the scan window clean with a soft, non-abrasive cloth, avoid harsh solvents, and store the device in a protected area when not in use. Regularly inspect the cable for wear and ensure the connector remains secured to prevent accidental disconnections during operation.

Really nice and unique watch
Color: Black/Black/Black
This watch really caught my eye on Amazon. Every once in awhile you order an item and it looks better in person than it does in a picture. This is one of those items. It looks really great in person! I collect mostly unique watches that look different than a normal watch. What is really unique about this watch is that it has 2 separate second hands. One that is always ticking for the time and another one that starts going with the Chronograph. Not sure I've ever seen that on another watch. Sure I've seen subdials that do this, but this is 2 full size second hands. And they look different also so they don't get confused. I've never seen this one in a store which is a shame because I think Timex has some great watches right now and I don't think a lot of people know about them.

nice but.
So, this really is a nice watch and if you can get it on sale it's a bargain. The bracelet is junk, with hollow end links. I would recommend replacing that with some type of fabric or rubber type strap. The reason I took one star off is because the chrono function isn't the best style. If you don't plan to use it much or only plan to use it for 10 minutes or less that's fine. More than that and the minutes counter flies back to zero and starts counting again which can be confusing and the next register is the combo 24hr and chrono minutes/hours counter which isn't easy to use for timing say 30 minutes or so. The standard type chrono counters are way better by design and Timex sells another one with standard counters with neat multicolored registers for less money. Otherwise it's a solid watch comfortable to wear not too big or thick or heavy. Of course it has mineral glass for the xtl so you need to be careful or it will scratch pretty easily but for the price.....

Value-packed chrono offers so much
I love this watch. Dial and movement are fascinating. It’s quite a show when the chrono is engaged, the timekeeping central seconds hand conyinues sweeping around, and the chrono’s central seconds hand is also sweeping. So you have two central seconds hands chasing each other around the dial when the chrono is engaged. On the retrograde subdial displays, time for a second time zone is displayed when chrono is not engaged. Elegant logo counterweight on one hand. Lots of content, complication and engagement for very little money. Highest recommendation for those interested in a watch that has a lot to offer.

Very nice watch for the money!
Little heavier than I thought. Weighs about 7 oz. the band itself weighs 4 oz. I replaced it with a much lighter leather band. Much more comfortable.
