The HPE SN6000B Fibre Channel Switch is a cornerstone for modern SAN fabrics, engineered to keep pace with ever-growing data workloads while delivering predictable performance and simplified management. With 16 Gb/s Fibre Channel per port and flexible port density in 24-port or 48-port configurations, this switch empowers data centers to scale storage networks as virtualization, consolidation, and data movement accelerate. The SN6000B is designed to minimize bottlenecks, maximize throughput, and reduce operational overhead—so you can deploy, optimize, and protect the storage backbone that powers your business-critical applications. Whether you're expanding an existing SAN or building a new fabric from the ground up, the SN6000B provides the reliability, performance, and manageability required for today’s demanding workloads.

  • Scalable, flexible port options: Available in 24-port and 48-port configurations, the SN6000B adapts to your rack space and throughput needs, allowing you to scale incrementally as workload demands rise. This density is ideal for mid-to-large enterprise environments where multiple storage arrays, hosts, and virtual machines share a common fabric, enabling future growth without disruptive forklift upgrades.
  • High-speed 16 Gb/s Fibre Channel: Each port delivers 16 gigabits per second of sustained bandwidth, providing low-latency I/O for latency-sensitive applications. The 16 Gb/s speed helps maintain high IOPs during peak periods, supporting mission-critical databases, VDI, and large virtualized workloads with consistent performance.
  • Optimized for virtualization and consolidation: Built to support virtualized servers and dynamic workloads, the SN6000B enables efficient server/storage consolidation. Features like NPIV support and scalable zoning help maximize server virtualization benefits, reduce storage sprawl, and simplify management across multi-hypervisor environments.
  • Advanced fabric management and security: The switch includes robust zoning, centralized fabric management, and security features that simplify deployment and governance. It enables precise access control, reduces risk from rogue devices, and streamlines firmware updates and policy enforcement across the fabric for a safer, more manageable SAN.
  • Reliability and high availability: Engineered with hot-swappable components and options for redundant power and cooling, the SN6000B is built to minimize downtime and protect data. The fault-tolerant design helps maintain service continuity during maintenance windows or component failures, keeping critical applications online and accessible.

How to install HPE SN6000B

  • Plan your fabric topology: inventory all HBAs, storage arrays, and existing switches; decide on zoning, NPIV requirements, and redundancy goals before physical installation.
  • Prepare the rack and environment: install the switch in a 19-inch rack with adequate airflow, ensure power availability, and confirm cable management paths to minimize signal interference.
  • Connect the fabric: attach Fibre Channel cables to the appropriate ports, following best practices for cable length, routing, and labeling to simplify troubleshooting and future upgrades.
  • Power up and access management: power on the unit and connect to the management interface (CLI or GUI) to configure the switch’s management IP, administrator credentials, and initial fabric settings.
  • Configure zoning and NPIV: define storage zones to isolate traffic and enable NPIV for virtualized hosts, ensuring each host has appropriate access to its storage backends without cross-talk.
  • Perform health checks: verify fabric connectivity, confirm that all hosts and storage arrays are visible, and run basic throughput tests to establish baseline performance.
  • Update firmware and apply best practices: install the latest supported firmware, review release notes for fixes and enhancements, and implement recommended security baselines and feature configurations.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the SN6000B? The SN6000B is a high-performance 16 Gb/s Fibre Channel switch designed for data center SAN fabrics, available in 24-port or 48-port configurations to match your density and throughput needs.
  • Is the SN6000B suitable for virtualization? Yes. It is optimized for virtualization and consolidation, supporting NPIV to scale virtual machine I/O paths and improve fabric efficiency in virtualized environments.
  • What is required for high availability? Redundant power options, hot-swappable components, proper zoning, and a well-planned fabric topology to ensure failover paths remain active during component failures or maintenance.
  • How do I upgrade firmware? Use the vendor management tools or CLI to upgrade to the latest compatible firmware, following the release notes to minimize downtime and ensure compatibility with connected devices.

Of course, yes!
Size: 40 Count (Pack of 1)
I absolutely love this product! My dry mouth is terrible with the medicines that I have to take and just being able to stick this on the side of my dumb and let it freely release during the day is fantastic! Why have I never heard of these wonderful little things. Perfect when you want don’t wanna wake up with bad breath these are mintier than most of the other kinds, I have tried. I wish they had xylitol in them because then they would even be great for your teeth.

Great Mint Flavor, better mouth profile
Size: 60 Count (Pack of 1)
Unlike others, I prefer these to the Zylimelts. I like the fact that the flavor is stronger and it's a good mint flavor. it has a little bit of a zing to it but it hasn't hurt my mouth. I find that these give me a better mouth feel than either Zylimelts or the Rite Aid brand which is what I was using before. I chose Rite Aid over Zylimelts because they had a better flavor and mouthfeel and were less expensive the Zylimelts, which left a scummy film in my mouth. Zylimelts are bit larger too & they hurt my mouth from their hard edges & size. Zylimelts leave a yucky coating in my mouth but didn't moisturize anywhere near as well as either Rite Aid or these Freshmelts. These have a lower height & more rounded edges so they don't hurt as much as the others. Fresh melts are also less expensive than the other two. Mostly Zylimelts had difficulty melting because they just don't moisturize well. Even my 99 year old Mom preferred Rite Aid over Zylimelt. Sadly she passed away before I discovered these wonderful FreshMelts. Personally I would suggest if this flavor is too strong for you, see if they come in another flavor, or try the Rite Aid brand of Zylimelts, called "oral care dry mouth discs" in mint flavor also available here on Amazon. They don't have as rounded a top edge as OraCoat's 2 products but they definitely moisturize better than Zylimelts, in my opinion & I think they come in another flavor too. FreshMelts definitely have the most mit flavor, thanks to the mint oil in them, which is what irritates some people. I haven't had that issue & prefer the tingle & freshness, which makes these much better for daytime use as well & lasts longer than Pur mints or Therabreath's dry mouth lozenges (tho sensitive mouths avoid their mandarin mint, it's extremely zingy, maybe even acidic, at least even I only use if out of everything else because of how strong the zing is - which is probably why they were so much cheaper than other flavors. Ha ha. Time before I got another flavor & while tingly, wasn't bad. For Nighttime however, nothing beats the adhesive disc melts. I vote Freshmelts best for good strong flavor, best comfort/size profile & also cheapest, always a plus for me!

Handy to keep in your pocket for refreshing mouth
Size: 160 Count (Pack of 1)
Oracoat FreshMelt Stick-on are great if you have dry mouth. I use them when I go to church and they stick to the roof of my mouth and stay in place for close to 2 hrs. I have also used them at night when I wake up and can't seem to get my mouth refreshed with water.

The best, but also the most expensive
Size: 160 Count (Pack of 1)
These are the best dry mouth tabs I’ve found. They actually stick-on and last for hours. I struggle so much with dry mouth when I sleep and these have been the longest lasting. They are pretty expensive, which is why I gave them 4* instead of 5, but I haven’t found any that work better.
