Wahoo ELEMNT Roam

The Wahoo ELEMNT Roam is the most advanced computer yet, built upon on the success of the orginal ELEMNT.

ELEMNT ROAM’s 2.7” flush-mounted ambient light sensing screen makes it easy to read data and track your position in all light conditions. And because it’s made from durable Gorilla™ Glass it can handle everything your adventure throws in its way. Linking in perfectly with the programmable LED indicators and intelligent navigation to provide you with all the details you could possibly need, in COLOUR for the first time.

ELEMNT ROAM is a truly wireless bike computer, meaning the days of finding time to tether up to your laptop to sync ride data, download maps or update your computer’s software are over. Through the free ELEMNT companion app which uses the intuitive interface of your smartphone to customize your settings, rider profile and link ELEMNT ROAM to your favorite cycling apps and wireless sensors. More connected than ever before with the ability to locate friends out riding in real time and receive emails, texts and phone alerts, ELEMNT ROAM keeps makes it easy to stay in touch when you’re out of reach.

The compatability of the Roam is phenominal, Training Peaks, Strava, Best Bike Split, Today's Plan and all Wahoo Smart Trainers. TrainingPeaks and Today’s Plan are fully integrated with ELEMNT ROAM. You can see your training plan, execute structured workouts, and upload results automatically. Plus, you can ride your workout plan outdoors or indoors with its Wahoo KICKR Smart Trainer compatibility.

New updates and features:

  • Specialized ANGi Integration:
The Specialized Ride App acts as a bridge between the ELEMNT GPS bike computer and the ANGi sensor when both devices are connected to it. After the one-time initial setup, with their phone in their pocket and the Ride App running in the background, the rider can press start on their ELEMNT GPS bike computer and gently shake their ANGi. The bike computer will communicate with the Ride App to enable ANGi and send a ride start alert to the rider’s emergency contacts. (Note: The Ride App must be running in the phone’s background for ANGi and Wahoo to communicate and transfer data).
If ANGi detects a potential crash, the countdown timer will appear on the Wahoo display. In the event the rider is OK and doesn’t need to call for help, the alert can be cancelled from the computer itself.
  • ANT+ LEV Integration:
The ANT+ light electric vehicle (LEV) provides a variety of information such as current speed, distance travelled, remaining battery life and range, and current state information. An ANT+ LEV display is used to communicate this information to the user. The display device may be a bike mounted unit, watch, cell phone or other personal display device like an ELEMNT Bike Computer. The purpose of the ANT+ LEV device profile is to provide a robust means of interoperable communication between LEVs and displays.
  • ANT+ Radar Integrations:

​Pair ANT+ rearview radar to ELEMNT ROAM for real-time proximity of vehicles approaching from behind. Two viewing modes: illuminated side LEDs or on-screen graphics:

Pairing: Radar will pair within the ELEMNTs settings screen like all other sensors and only pair via ANT+.
Channel Colors: On the ROAM the color of the road will change based on the speed of the cars approaching the cyclist. Orange for normal speeds and red for high speeds. The road will change to green once the car has passed the cyclist.
  • Strava Turn By Turn
With new on device Turn By Turn support, the ROAM bike computer now provides turn-by-turn route guidance for every routing app including Singletracks, MTB Project and Strava as well as every file type including GPX Files!
Turn-by-turn guidance is similar to the navigation in Waze and Google Maps. While you are riding on a route, ROAM provides on-screen notifications including the name of your turns and it flashes LEDs indicating the direction to turn. You can view your path in an overhead map view and you can also see written turn-by-instructions on a separate data screen.

The wheels move easily; the back of the chair tilts just enough; it is a deep chair to support my back (only 5"3), so I added a back pillow making perfectly comfortable to provide support needed for long period of times. If I have a negative comment, it is about the back of the chair being black so purely matter of esthetic.: and armrests narrower than I'd like and wrapped with 2 pieces of leather connected with a piece of fabric a bit loose with a zipper which will allow overtime to be completely removed and left with chrome completely if wearing out or simply if you prefer that look so options. A great purchase

First off, let me say wow! When I received this, I didn’t expect much because of the price, but I am blown away with the care that was given in the packaging alone, the simplicity of putting it together with the detailed yet brief instruction page, and the ability to put this together with one person. Took me less than 40mins. Highly recommend!!! And in fact, I’m purchasing another one right now as I’m sitting here rocking in my new beautiful chair. UPDATE: a lot of negative reviews are basically user error. To attach the wheels, to snap on, I used a rubber (not metal) mallet to tap them in. To the leveling review, you have one arm on backwards. To the screw passing through, you may be correct but double check you didn’t use the required screws elsewhere. And the person saying it doesn’t recline, you have to release the lock - pull the up and down lever out and away from the seat. Good luck all! Bought a second one - same thoughts as above. Pretty awesome chair.

Pros: Simple Assembly: It took less than 45 minutes to build. The instructions are straightforward, and all necessary tools are included. Getting the armrests aligned takes a bit of finagling, but it's manageable. Appearance & Shipping: It arrived well-packaged with no damage. It has a sleek, modern look that adds a great aesthetic to an office space, and the height adjustment works perfectly. Cons: Lack of Support: The comfort level falls short. At 5'11", I found the back offers no lumbar support, and the backrest isn't tall enough to serve as a headrest. Disappointing Armrests: The armrests are mostly metal with a thin, flimsy layer of faux leather. If you live in a colder climate or a poorly insulated home, the metal frames get quite cold to the touch. Limited Padding: The seat cushion is minimal. After about 3 hours of sitting, it starts to feel very firm and uncomfortable. Verdict: You ultimately get what you pay for. I would not recommend this as a primary desk chair for an 8-hour workday. However, it is an affordable, sharp-looking option if you just need a decorative accent piece, a guest chair, or budget-friendly seating for a conference room.
