High Fashion Music continues to offer-up fresh mixes of disco, boogie and electrofunk classics - as well as some less-celebrated gems. Dolos' sole single, 1984's synth-heavy boogie roller 'Night So Right', sits in the latter camp. Here the song gets re-tooled for 21st century disco dancefloors by prolific Aussie scalpel fiend Dr Packer. On the A-side he delivers a full vocal rub, that sits somewhere between his usual lightly housed-up and beefed-up rubs and the multi-track rearrangements of his French contemporary The Reflex. The latter influence is more evident on Packer's flip-side 'dubbed So Right' take, which does a great job of reflecting the effects-laden and often stripped-back nature of 80s boogie dubs whilst retaining the chunkier feel of contemporary nu-disco productions.
