Proxmox Virtual Environment Deployment and Management (Formerly Installation and Administration) (100) provides the technical foundation for deploying and managing individual Proxmox VE servers in standalone deployments or as a node in a Proxmox VE cluster. It will cover the essential concepts and topics with practical hands-on labs using virtual machines (VMs) and Linux containers (LXCs) to explore networking, storage, authentication, backups and troubleshooting.
Participants receive the universal Proxmox standard 16-hour training program over four half-day periods, from 1 pm to 5 pm Eastern Time.

Topics
- The architecture of Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) and considerations when deploying in single-server scenarios, including hardware and network connectivity.
- Common storage types used in single server deployments including ZFS, LVM, NFS and SMB/CIFS.
- Network connectivity including Linux bridging, interface bonding, the integrated firewall and Proxmox VE Software-Defined Network.
- Creation and management of guests (i.e. virtual machines (VMs) and Linux containers (LXCs)) including cloning and using Cloud-init images.
- Migration from other hypervisors (V2V) or from physical hosts (P2V) including the integrated ESXi import tool.
- User and permission management.
- Guest backups, scheduling, and retention management.
- Introduction to the Proxmox VE CLI tools. Many of the tasks in the labs are done in both the web GUI and command line.
- Troubleshooting.
