Our Oscillating Hoe is made with a powder-coated steel frame and a spring steel blade that’s sharpened on both sides. The sharpened blade is heavy-duty and durable so it cuts through the thickest weeds. Similar in design to a hula hoe, scuffle hoe or stirrup hoe, the Oscillating Hoe has a hinged 20 degree action that allows you to cut weeds in both a forward and backward direction.

The sharpened, thin blade slices through soils like butter, eliminating all weeds in its path. This wheel hoe attachment works great in all soil types and is strong enough to penetrate the surface on the hardest, clay soils. For the most effective use, push the wheel hoe with a shuffling motion so that the oscillating action of the hoe can flip weeds as you travel along the row.

Available in 6”, 8” and 12” lengths, the Oscillating Hoe is the perfect tool for weeding between garden rows. Use the 6” version of this hula hoe on winter crops such as mustard greens or lettuce that typically have narrower row spacing. Use the 12” version on traditional summer crops that tend to have wider row spacing. The spring steel blade provides a shallow cultivation that allows you to weed close to plants without damaging the feeder roots.

In addition to removing existing weeds, the oscillating hoe is great for weed prevention. The best way to manage weeds in the vegetable garden is through frequent, shallow cultivation. When this is done at least once a week, it will remove weeds when they are in the threadlike stage, barely visible to the naked eye. This will prevent weeds from every going to seed and becoming a persistent problem in the vegetable garden.

Oscillating Hoe features:

  • Spring steel blade
  • Blade oscillates 20 degrees forward and backward
  • Available in 6", 8" and 12" models
  • Fits Single, Double and High Arch Wheel Hoes

started fogging up inside after a couple of swimming sessions
Color: Black
Unfortunately, my watch started fogging up inside after just a couple of normal swimming sessions. I rinsed it with fresh water every time afterward and dried it with a towel, but later noticed moisture building up inside, and now I have to put it in rice to pull the condensation out. On the other hand, it’s hard to find good-looking classic-style watches with tide information, so I might just keep it as an everyday accessory rather than a watch for swimming.

Great watch for a great price.
Color: Green/Green
Watch is well made and keeps time accurate. Easy to charge and just keeps going. No surprises. If you like what you see and want a solar watch go for it. Sapphire Glass too.

It was too good to be true
Color: Tan
I spoke too soon. Like with every Timex, this one was faulty, too. When the seconds hand reaches the 12 o'clock position (indicating the start of a new minute), the minutes hand should align precisely with a minute marker. That's how it should be. However, in the case of this particular watch, the minutes hand consistently lags behind, meaning it does not align correctly with the minute marker when the seconds hand hits the 12. No matter how precisely I align the minute hand when resetting the time, the minute hand eventually misaligns. Timex, I give up. ORIGINAL REVIEW: "Wow. After receiving 3 faulty, shoddily built Timex watches in a row, color me impressed. This looks good, feels good, and operates well. This is a great cheap alternative to the Khaki Field watch, IMO. The case is made of steel, not brass like many Timex watches. The glass is mineral, but here's something many watch enthusiasts don't tell you—mineral glass is more impact-resistant than sapphire crystal. Since you want a field watch to have more impact-resistant features, I'm okay with mineral glass. And here's the final bonus... the second hand actually hits all the markers. This may not be your experience, but with the one I got, it's hitting the marks perfectly. A lot of collectors obsess over specifications way too much. For me, as long as the watch functions properly, aesthetics and design are most important. And this watch has it. In person, this watch just looks really, really good. And for the price I got it at, it checks off the spec sheet too. Now, let's see how it holds up over time."

Too small
Color: Tan
I have small wrists and this was too small even for me. It also seems a bit cheap compared to my other Timex and Casio.
