Technical Details of Allied Telesis SP10BD40/I SFP+ Module

  • Product type: 10 Gigabit Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP+) transceiver module
  • Form factor: SFP+ with LC duplex optical connector (typical for SP10-series modules; verify variant-specific interface in the official datasheet)
  • Data rate: 10 Gbps Ethernet performance via the SFP+ interface
  • Wavelength and fiber compatibility: Fiber type and wavelength depend on the specific SP10BD40/I variant; suitable for common fiber deployments in data centers when paired with the correct fiber type and fiber-optic cable
  • Operating environment: Designed for data-center-grade operation with standard environmental conditions; exact temperature and humidity specifications vary by production lot and regional requirements
  • Vendor warranty and support: Provided through Allied Telesis support channels and regional distributors; warranty terms vary by region and purchase agreement

How to install Allied Telesis SP10BD40/I SFP+ Module

  • Power down the endpoint equipment if required by your network policy, or confirm hot-swappable compatibility for your device model before installation.
  • Identify an available SFP+ slot on your Allied Telesis switch, router, or server edge device that supports SFP+ transceivers.
  • Carefully remove any existing transceiver module from the target SFP+ slot, taking care not to disturb adjacent components or cables.
  • Orient the SP10BD40/I module correctly with the connector facing the SFP+ port, then insert firmly until the module seats and the locking mechanism engages. Do not force-fit; the latch should click once the module is properly seated.
  • Connect the appropriate LC duplex fiber-optic cable to the module, ensuring the cable is clean and the ferrule is free from dust or debris. Gently secure the cable to prevent movement.
  • Power on the device (if you powered down) and verify link status via the device’s management interface. LED indicators on the transceiver or the host port should reflect an active link and negotiated speed.
  • Validate connectivity by running a basic throughput test or by checking the device’s performance dashboards. If you encounter link issues, re-seat the module or test with a known-good fiber and cable pair.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What is the Allied Telesis SP10BD40/I SFP+ Module?
  • A: It is a 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ transceiver module designed to plug into SFP+ ports on Allied Telesis SP10-series devices and compatible networking equipment, enabling high-speed uplinks and server/storage connections in data center and enterprise networks.
  • Q: Will this SFP+ module work with my switch or router?
  • A: The SP10BD40/I is intended for use with Allied Telesis SP10-series devices and other equipment that supports SFP+ transceivers. For best results, verify compatibility with your specific model and firmware, and ensure you select the correct fiber type, wavelength, and connector.
  • Q: What fiber type should I use with this module?
  • A: Fiber type depends on the precise variant of the SP10BD40/I module. Common SFP+ modules support multi-mode fiber for shorter distances and single-mode fiber for longer links. Always refer to the official datasheet for wavelength and fiber recommendations before purchase and installation.
  • Q: How do I know if the module is working correctly?
  • A: Check the host device’s management interface for link status and speed negotiation. LED indicators on the transceiver or port should show link activity. If no link is detected, re-seat the module, verify fiber connections, and ensure proper compatibility with the device firmware.
  • Q: Is the SP10BD40/I hot-swappable?
  • A: Yes. The SP10 Series SFP+ modules are designed for hot-swapping on supported devices, allowing you to upgrade uplinks and server connections with minimal network disruption. Always follow vendor guidance for hot-swapping on your specific hardware model.

The kid and I both love this book
Format: Hardcover
I am so enamored with the illustrator of this book that I've taken to buying almost everything he does. The illustrations here are so cute and playful! My daughter wants to read this almost every single day. She loves to point out the bugs on the different page and we make up stories about them. She can now recognize so many bugs we when go outside and is really excited to see them in real life! She laughs at the antics of the ladybug on each page and loves that there are different animals hidden in with the bugs. Really can't say enough good things about this book. My only caution is that there aren't really a lot of words, so if you aren't comfortable ad-libbing or making up stories you may find it a bit boring. But if you make it interactive it's really fun!

Greatest book on the planet
Format: Board book
This book was purchased for me as a baby shower gift. My daughter is obsessed with this book. We have read it so much that our first copy has seen some damage (the book is sturdy, the damage is our fault). I had to get another copy just to keep forever. I will also be purchasing the hard cover book to keep in my collection to have forever. The illustration is brilliant, we love Oscar, the writing itself is so fun. I love that it encourages exploration, play, as well as education. 10/10 - this is our favorite childrens book ever. We read it maybe 30 times a day.

Cute Rhymes and wonderful info
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
This book is super cute and makes bugs interesting with it's colorful pages and different big varieties. The book rhymes throughout the pages and it's so cute and almost reminds me of song that could have sung by the "Animaniacs" (my age is showing lol). In one of the pics I show the cover damaged but that's from my son chewing on the book. Just because it's a board book doesn't meant it's exempt from damage, just makes it last a little longer than a paperback. I also REALLY like that there is a page that lists the bugs seen along with their names which is helpful in teaching your little one! My son enjoyed this beautiful book. :)
