Description:

EarthQuaker Devices is proud to introduce you to your new best bud, Gary. This little big guy was dreamt up by the one and only Lee Kiernan from the crushing and most necessary band, Idles!

Gary started as a simple request to create a compact version of the now discontinued Gray Channel, which was a mainstay on Lee’s board and a big part of his main drive tone. This was all fine and good, and sounded quite sick, but Gary was demanding that we look deeper and explore his dark side a little more, Gary after dark, Saturday night Gary. So, we sat him down and began the trek of figuring old Gare-Bear out once and for all. The result is a real exercise in light and dark; smooth to shredded and everything in between.

Gary’s right brain consists of a dynamic and destructive fuzz that is both domineering and interactive. It is a ripping fuzz tone with an envelope-controlled variable pulse width and enough volume to blow everything up. This nasty little fuzz turns the signal into a square wave and allows you to dynamically adjust the duty cycle with pick attack. Yes! controls the sensitivity of the envelope. When this is all the way down you will get an unadulterated thick and heavy square wave fuzz tone that will sustain for days and go dead quiet when you stop playing. As you increase the Yes! control, the envelope becomes more interactive, and the pulse width narrows the harder you hit it.  As the pulse width narrows, the tone becomes more nasal and biting until it gets so narrow that Gary goes to his dark place and disappears completely. In other words, with higher sensitivity settings, the sound will disappear entirely and come cruising back to Gary’s big guy tone. With proper playing dynamics, this creates a very cool effect that can sound like an exploding amp coming in and out of life, blown through a phase shifter.

This effect can also be controlled with an expression pedal for manual operation or for finding just the right pulse width to cut through the mix for a set-and-forget operation. When using an expression pedal, Yes!operates in conjunction with the expression pedal to set the peak of the sweep. Set Yes! to the desired stopping point and express yourself as you please without worry of taking Gary over the edge!

Oosh acts as the master volume for Gary’s nasty side. There is an insane amount of volume on tap so use this control wisely!

Gary’s left brain displays his softer side. This is a simple and natural sounding overdrive that keeps your tone lively and drives your amp crazy. This side is based on the green channel of our Gray Channel, which is our take on the classic little yellow overdrive that started it all for us. Lee used this pedal with the clipping switch permanently set to the middle position, which removes all the diodes from the circuit, producing a full-bodied, cutting opamp distortion with plenty of volume on tap. We have reproduced that tone here with exacting precision. Gosets the opamp drive and can range from a simple full-range clean boost all the way up to a smooth and natural distortion. In conjunction with That’s It, which is the master volume for the drive side, you can use Gary’s softer side as a clean boost to push your amp into overdrive or turn up Go and use all of Gary’s internal magic to create the finely tuned dirt you desire.

Gary’s signal path is fuzz into overdrive for total tonal integrity and cannot be changed. This is where Gary put his foot down, and we obliged.

    Matter-enabled High Quality Light Strips
    Size: 9.8ft
Great lights. Used these as accent lights behind an entertainment center to avoid harsh overhead lights. Three in total. They put out plenty of light and easy to install and use. Love the Matter integration. Negatives: can’t use the cut portion. Once it’s cut, the extra is useless. Not cheap for a light strip. Purchase if you like the light tech or want Matter integration. You have to guess for “light temperatures” (warm, daylight, etc.). I used a Google search for finding the Hex # to input into light control and fine tune from there Love these and would buy again

    Great product, reliable quality!
    Size: 9.8ft, Size: 9.8ft
I moved into a new place with wood stairs. There’s a landing step that is invisible at night - it just looks like the floor below the step. Of course, one can only determine a stair to be invisible at night after one misses said stair, falling, twisting ankle and foot, lying on floor cursing and crying for help from the husband at 11pm in the dark. I used painters tape for a couple of weeks. Again, not so helpful at night but there was some distinction. I knew I needed to light this step up to avoid future slips on the invisible step. I love Govee products. I have a Govee metal tall skinny lamp thing which is where I learned about this gummy, straight, light tube that they make. I really did not want the light strips that were cheaper w the separate little lights on them since this was going under a stair and you could see the underside of the stair clearly from our lower living room whilst sitting on the couch. This product was SUPER easy to install. I love that you can cut it to size (though if you need exact I would go with the Govee light strips w the little lights there’s more cut areas closer together). I love that I already have the Govee app and it connected relatively easily (turning things on/off, using airplane mode and unplugging will get you connected). My 2 gripes about Govee… 1. Please figure out how to make strips that you can cut and connect - I want to be able to configure a corner or different shape besides just a straight line. I also want to be able to connect multiple lines to one adapter (I had a cheap one that could do this but I was afraid it would burn my house down). I paid $$$ for a single step and would like to have been able to use the rest of my strip for another step but instead it’s just useless. 2. I wish it dimmed a little more - the 1% is really bright in the dark. This strip is VERY bright. Anyways, love my step and it’s safe to take the painters tape off and have it be a normal step.

    Bright, with great diffuser
    Size: 16.4ft
This is a nice, flexible light with a good diffuser. The tape is sticky, so make sure you want this to be permanent, because it's likely to damage wall paint when removed. Lot's of color, pattern, and dynamic light options with the software. My last Govee light strip had the green LEDs burn out after a year, hopefully that's not the case here. I will update this review if that happens. These are pretty pricey, so hopefully they're durable!

Awesome lights just know that they are neon colored and very bright!
    Size: 9.8ft
These lights were very easy to install. Very much more flexible than rope lights or even desk lights. They look awesome on my cabinets if I do say so myself….. also know that it wherever you put them is where they’re going to stay… for eternity. Adhesive is so strong that when I had to remove one, I had to use a knife and cut the adhesive off of the actual light itself and leave the adhesive behind or it will tear all the paint off of my wall. It’s a good thing that they’re very strong adhesive wise. Just make sure that you know exactly where you’re putting it and that you have measured properly and if you’re going to cut it, make sure that you do that before you start putting it up. Also, a big deal is that these are neon colored and very bright! If you are trying to match something like dream view, for instance (I did) they will not match with the other lights at all not even close. They don’t even match the desk lights that you see in the video along my countertops. I have to turn the brightness down or it overpower the entire kitchen and other lights.
