Accuris MyGel™ Electrophoresis System
Accuris myGel Mini electrophoresis system includes all of the equipment that you need to get up and running: gel tank, power supply and two casting sets. Ideal for personal use, small laboratories or the classroom, this gel box/power supply combination is compact and easy to use.
The myGel mini gel box attaches directly to the power supply for a secure connection every time. Selectable parameters include 3 preset voltages – 35V, 50V or 100V – and a 99 minute timer. All are set using the membrane keypad.
The safety lid is vented to help dissipate heat generated during electrophoresis, and features a viewing area above the gel. Current will only run through the system when the lid is properly in place on top of the gel box.
Trays and casting stands for both 10.5 x 6cm and 5 x 6cm gels are included with the myGel Mini system, as are double-sided combs. The smaller tooth combs are compatible with multichannel pipettes. Casting is quick and easy – just place the tray in the casting stand and pour. The trays feature a dark contrast strip to help visualize wells while loading and lines that fluoresce under UV and blue light to track progress of the run.

Worked twice then died within 3 months

The set is nice, looks good, well organized. The features are simple and the main opener looks and feels sturdy. However, roughly half the corks just get torn and don’t extract. Had 3 or less successes with as many failures. We only drink a few bottles a month at most. Now the unit just completely stops almost as quickly as it starts. You can reverse the screw to get it out when it stops and the motor seems fine when not pressed against a bottle/cork. The way it stops almost immediately when fully charged and cool means it isn’t an overheating issue or weak battery issue from what I can tell. Very disappointed and wished I’d returned it the minute I had the first issue. I thought it might just be me not holding it firmly enough or needing to learn some trick, but it was definitely the unit going bad. Buyer beware.

Easy to operate.
Color: Black/Battery
Very easy to operate. I was a little confused on how it operated but all I had to do is sit it on top of the can and it operates by itself. When it is done, the lid can be removed or set on top of the can. It doesn't leave any sharp edges. I was using a hand held one but because I have arthritis in my wrist, it is worth the price easy enough for seniors or disabled
