Technical Details of Cisco Sfp28 Module 10 25Gbase LR Bidirectional D Iitem

The Cisco SFP28 Module is a 25GBASE transceiver in the compact SFP28 form factor, purpose-built for scalable uplinks and interconnects within modern data-center fabrics. It supports 25 Gb/s Ethernet with Bidirectional (LR BiDi) capabilities, enabling efficient use of single-mode fiber by transmitting and receiving over distinct wavelengths on a single fiber pair. This module is designed to plug into supported Cisco switches, routers, and servers with minimal downtime, preserving Cisco’s reliability and long product lifecycles. It’s optimized for interoperability across Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco UCS platforms, and a wide range of Cisco-compatible equipment, ensuring a smooth transition from 10G and earlier generations.

  • Form factor: SFP28
  • Data rate: 25GBASE-LR Bidirectional (LR BiDi)
  • Reach: up to approximately 10 km on standard single-mode fiber (distance varies by SKU and fiber conditions)
  • Medium: Single-mode fiber (SMF) with LC connectors for bidirectional BiDi operation
  • Wavelengths: BiDi operation using distinct Tx/Rx wavelengths on a single fiber pair (commonly 1310 nm family, exact wavelengths may vary by SKU)
  • Compatibility: Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco UCS servers, and Cisco-compatible devices
  • Power characteristics: Designed for low per-port power consumption to support greener data centers
  • Environment: Industrial-grade reliability with Cisco warranty support

how to install Cisco Sfp28 Module 10 25Gbase LR Bidirectional D Itemp

  • Verify device compatibility: Ensure your Cisco switch, router, or server model supports SFP28 transceivers and LR BiDi operation.
  • Prepare the hardware: Power down the system if recommended by your device’s maintenance procedures, or use hot-swappable deployment if your platform supports it.
  • Remove protective caps: Take off the dust cap from the module and from the corresponding SFP28 port, keeping the connectors clean.
  • Insert the module: Align the module with the SFP28 port and firmly but gently seat it into the slot until it is fully seated and any retention mechanism clicks into place.
  • Attach the fiber: Connect the appropriate single-mode fiber BiDi link (LC duplex) to the module, ensuring correct polarity and secure connections.
  • Verify operation: Power on the device (if needed) and check the link status LEDs and interface status. Use your device’s management interface to verify transceiver recognition and link integrity (e.g., show commands or GUI status pages).
  • Test performance: Validate link speed, duplex settings, and throughput with representative traffic to confirm stable 25G uplinks for your workloads.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What does 25GBASE LR Bidirectional mean for this module?
  • A: It indicates a 25 Gb/s Ethernet transceiver that uses bidirectional communication over a single-mode fiber pair. This LR BiDi variant is optimized for long-reach intra- and inter-data center links, offering high throughput with efficient fiber usage.
  • Q: Is this module hot-swappable?
  • A: Yes. The Cisco SFP28 LR BiDi module is designed for hot-swappable operation in supported Cisco devices, enabling maintenance and capacity upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Q: What devices is it compatible with?
  • A: It is intended for Cisco ecosystems and is designed to interoperate with Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco UCS servers, and a broad range of Cisco-compatible equipment. Always verify compatibility with your specific model and software version.
  • Q: What fiber and connector types are required?
  • A: The module uses single-mode fiber with LC connectors and operates bidirectionally over a single fiber pair. Use appropriate BiDi fiber cabling and ensure clean, secure connections for reliable links.
  • Q: How far can it reach?
  • A: Reach depends on the SKU and fiber conditions, but LR BiDi variants typically support up to around 10 km on standard SMF. For longer or shorter deployments, check the exact SKU specifications.
  • Q: How can I maximize efficiency and TCO with this module?
  • A: Take advantage of the low per-port power consumption, high-density 25G uplinks, and Cisco’s ecosystem interoperability to optimize rack space, reduce cabling complexity, and simplify lifecycle management while delivering scalable bandwidth for current and future workloads.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
