Welcome to the LGBTIQA+ Awareness in the Workplace training course. The course has been designed to provide you with an understanding of The LGBTQIA plus community represents people of diverse sexes, gender, and sexualities.

LGBTIQA+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer, asexual, and more. And while it might seem confusing at first, it's actually pretty easy to get the hang of.

After completing this course you will be able to:

  1. a greater awareness of why LGBTIQA+ awareness in the workplace matters

  2. an understanding of why workplace bullying and harassment is not acceptable and the potential legal implications

  3. a greater awareness of the groups represented by the LGBTIQA+ acronym and key terminology used
  4. a better understanding of the difference between sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics, and

  5. an understanding of the benefits that can be realised in an LGBTIQA+ inclusive workplace.

One of the common reasons people make mistakes when it comes to offering support to LGBTQIA plus people is they don't know much about the community, or they're afraid of saying the wrong thing. But those aren't really good enough reasons to stick your head in the sand. With a bit of forethought, you'll be just fine. Ultimately, it isn't really important that you know and understand everything about the different identities that formed the LGBTQIA plus community. But what is important is that you accept that a person's identity is as they describe it, and experience it.

This acronym or a variant of it is likely to be encountered in your work environment. You're likely to work with or know someone who is a member of this community. The most recent Australian Workplace Equality Index survey, which surveyed almost 45,000 people across many organisations, found that 19% of respondents identified themselves as LGBTIQA+. 61% of those who responded were open to all or most people. Look around your workplace, whether it is an office, a building site, or a workshop. Notice how different people are: their sex and ethnicity, age, dress, beliefs, etc.

Today's workforce is diverse, it's safe to say. While many companies have made great strides in creating inclusive workplaces for LGBTIQA+ people, there are still many to go. People's attitudes, language, policy, and outright bigotry have been a major factor in the exclusion of LGBTIQA+ people. People can be bullied, excluded, or made fun of by others, such as jokes or remarks. This can have a negative impact on productivity, staff turnover, and mental health. This can also negatively impact a company's reputation and financial performance.

Employers that promote LGBTIQA+ visibility and strengthen their understanding in the workplace as well as strengthening the protections surrounding their attributes make them safer. A safe, educated workforce is more likely than not to voice their concerns, opinions or experiences, and can provide an opportunity to address workplace issues. This has positive effects on a company's reputation, business growth, talent attraction, staff retention, and other areas such as brand respect. Employers that are LGBTIQA+-inclusive have outperformed those who aren't. A happy, motivated, and empowered workforce that enjoys coming to work will result in more collaboration, creativity, productivity, and profitability. High quality output comes from happier people in your workplace. A workplace culture that is positive and supportive will lead to greater recognition and reputation.

In an LGBT iq plus inclusive workplace, everybody wins. Here's some things you can do to be more inclusive. To be an ally at work. Reflect on your biases and the language you use, and commit to being inclusive as an individual. Avoid using heteronormative assumptions or language. Educate yourself on the experiences of LGBT iq plus people. Read up and attend professional development or training. Try broadening your social media feeds, streaming shows, or reading books written for buy and about queer identities and lives. celebrate LGBT IQ A plus diversity, be proactive and support programmes and events that celebrate LGBTQIA plus diversity. Speak up if safe to do so. Challenge homophobic language and discriminatory behaviour. Be proactive in learning about best practice policies and processes for LGBTI QA plus inclusion and then advocate for their adoption. Review all marketing materials, social media, and website assets to ensure LGBTI QA plus visibility and inclusive language is used. Provide a welcome culturally safe and accessible workplace with gender neutral facilities such as bathrooms and showers. Display visible signs of being an LGBT IQ A plus inclusive workplace, like symbols and statements of support in an LGBT IQ A plus inclusive workplace. Everybody wins.

Everyone wins in a workplace that is LGBTIQA+-inclusive.

    Pretty Darn Good
    Format: Kindle
So I’ve been on a omega kick and this definitely hit the spot. Madison was frustrating at times with how she acted towards Lucas, Gray, and Rian. It was like she said towards the end, she didn’t believe she deserved nice things. It would have been nice to hear from her best friends again. They kind of were there in the beginning and the gone except for mention of text messages received from them. I feel like her friends would have been great help in encouraging Madison to go with the pack and never give Brent another chance because he was toxic. I loved Rian. His personality was awesome. His humor. His ability to make Madison comfortable whenever she was feeling overwhelmed. And the fact he fell for her and she fell for him first. They are cute together. I do feel like Lucas was the odd man out though. Like Lucas didn’t develop as much of a relationship with Madison. I would have really liked to see more development in the relationship between them. It was also the same with him and Rian. There is really no relationship displayed. Most of the relationship being displayed is between Rian and Gray. Nevertheless, I loved reading about the dynamic that came to fruition during the entirety of this story. Madison finally got her happiness. And Brent finally got punched in the face. Everyone got exactly what they deserve.

Pack's Promise was okay but not great
    Format: Kindle
Pack's Promise was okay but not great. I won't recommend it to anyone that I know. PRO: * Very likable characters * Lots of steamy scenes that are written very well * The spelling and grammar are good * The punctuation is good with the exception of using hyphens instead of commas. Lots of hyphens. Lots and lots of hyphens. CON: * Almost no interactions with any characters outside of Madison and the pack * Nearly no plot. They meet, get together for a heat, agree to make it permanent, done * Quite a few typos such as extraneous words, missing words and words out of order THINGS TO KNOW: * More steamy scenes than storytelling * A lot of MM & MMM, some MFMM during heat

    Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
    Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

    Fantastic writing and non-stop action
    Format: Kindle
This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.
