The Cisco Catalyst C9200-48T Layer 3 Switch is a robust, data‑centered access and distribution solution engineered for growing enterprise networks. Built around the trusted Cisco IOS XE platform, this 48‑port copper switch delivers dependable performance, strong security, and scalable Layer 3 routing to support expanding campus setups, branch offices, and distributed environments. With 48 copper Ethernet ports for flexible end‑device connectivity and an array of uplink options, the C9200-48T enables efficient network segmentation, simplified management, and resilient operation in a compact 1U form factor. Whether you are modernizing your campus core or expanding your distribution layer, this model provides the reliability and simplicity you need to deliver consistent user experiences and seamless connectivity across the organization.

  • High-density 48‑port data plane for flexible access layer deployments
The C9200-48T offers 48 x 1G Ethernet copper ports in a compact chassis, delivering solid performance for desktops, IP phones, and servers at the edge of the network. With four dedicated uplink ports, you can extend reliable connectivity to aggregation switches and core networks, creating scalable campus fabrics without sacrificing efficiency or manageability. This combination supports growing endpoint footprints, high‑density conference rooms, and campus deployments that demand steady throughput and predictable performance.
  • Integrated Layer 3 routing for simplified campus networks
Equipped with Layer 3 capabilities, this switch supports static routing and dynamic routing protocols, enabling efficient inter‑VLAN routing and optimized traffic paths across campus and distribution layers. By handling routing at the edge, it reduces bottlenecks, minimizes Latency, and eliminates the immediate need for a separate router in many small‑to‑mid‑sized networks. IPv4 and IPv6 routing support further future‑proofs your network while enabling seamless integration with modern data center and cloud connectivity.
  • Security‑driven, policy‑based access and segmentation
Security is a cornerstone of the Catalyst 9200 family. The C9200‑48T supports ACLs, port security, and 802.1X authentication to enforce device and user access policies. With features designed for network segmentation and threat mitigation, you can create clear boundaries between departments, isolate sensitive data, and apply consistent security controls at the access layer. The switch also contributes to secure network instrumentation and monitoring, enhancing visibility while preventing unauthorized access or lateral movement.

How to Install Cisco Catalyst C9200-48T Layer 3 Switch

Proper installation begins with planning and rack space preparation. Mount the C9200-48T in a standard 19-inch rack, ensuring adequate clearance for airflow and cable management. Connect to a reliable power source and verify that the power supplies and fans are functioning as intended. For initial configuration, access the console port using a terminal emulator to establish a baseline, including secure remote management access (SSH) and a defined management IP address. If you are integrating the switch into an existing network, document your IP addressing plan, VLAN topology, and routing strategy before applying configuration changes. Start with VLAN creation to segment traffic by department or function, then configure inter‑VLAN routing through static routes or dynamic routing protocols as required by your topology. Enable Layer 3 routing and verify reachability between VLANs and uplink peers. Implement security policies by enabling ACLs, configuring 802.1X authentication for user devices, and applying appropriate port security measures to protect the access layer. QoS configuration is recommended for prioritizing latency‑sensitive applications such as voice and video, ensuring a consistent user experience. If your environment requires high availability, consider stacking multiple C9200–48T units using StackWise, and plan for redundancy with optional power and fan modules. After configuration, perform connectivity tests, validate VLAN isolation, and monitor performance metrics through the IOS XE interface or Cisco DNA Center to maintain optimal performance over time. Keep some time for a backup of the configuration and documentation of the change history to simplify future maintenance and audits.

Can I have Term 2 now?
Format: Kindle
This is by far my favorite book of Lyra's to date. I gobbled this book up so fast, I was so upset I finished it. I know this is going to be a book I reread, just like Fate Hollow Academy. I loved Fate Hollow Academy, so I was excited when Lyra announced she was taking us readers back to Kalista. Although the characters from Fate Hollow are mentioned several times throughout the book, this book is about Pandora and her love interests in the Demon Realm. Before you deep dive into this book, definitely look at the trigger warnings before you start. When Lyra says there's dark themes in this book, she meant it. Also, just know this book does end on a cliffhanger and will probably leave you with as many questions as it did me. Below may contain some minor spoilers, so keep that in mind if you want to keep reading my review. Pandora's first 2 decades of her life are full of torture, hatred, and confinement in a cellar. That is until her father finds her and brings her into the world she was supposed to live in. Because of her upbringing she wasn't acclimated to the Demon world and the way their society works so when she is offered the chance to go to a Demon Reform Accademy, she accepts it to learn the ways of society and how she is supposed to feed. Pandora isn't like the other common demons in this world, no. She, like her father Death, are soul-eaters. Pandora is too scared to release her powers because she doesn't want to kill anyone, so she needs to learn how to feed off of a piece of soul instead of taking the whole thing. Because of who her father is, she's classed as a Noble, and while she doesn't agree with her fellow Noble students, who look down on the "lower" class, she also is faced with 3 Demons who hate her for being a Noble. Theses a lot of back and forth tension which these 3 demons who have issues of their own. One is obsessed with her, and wants to know all of her secrets. One leaks fear all over the place, but also is scared of the "princess" -wink- -wink-. One is a complete drunk who doesn't like her just because he's got family Noble problems. Don't worry, there are 2 other demons who are just the sweetest towards her. One who will get vengeance for anything done to her, he's got Golden Retriever energy around her and touch her and die energy for anyone around her. Finally, there is one who is friends with her even when the whole school is scared of her, who brings her into his dreams and will create nightmares for those who bother her.

This was more than I expected...
Format: Kindle
So...I finished this book at nearly 2am! It was just that hard to put down. I loved that it's set in the same world as Fates Hollow but in the future. Poor Pandora has been through so much but there's light at the end of the tunnel for her. She finally meets her dad and it turns out he's amazing. In order to help her learn about demon society and how to control her magic he sends her to the Demon Reform Academy. There she meets 2 awesome demons who help her and care for her. She also sadly meets her 3 tormentors. I will say though that while they do bully Pandora they also rescue her several times and defend her. They too have traumatizing pasts and can't see the good that is in front of them. Of course demon society needs to be shaken up too since that's part of the problem. I really enjoyed this read. I teared up a few times throughout the book but I liked the characters and that ending...well it looks like 3 in denial are going to need to grovel hard.

MUST READ BOOK!!
Format: Kindle
I was in a huge reading slump, when one of my favorite authors recommended this book in her readers group (The amazing Marie Mistry 🫶) and I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Now I’m in the club crying about having to wait until December for Term 2! This book is about a girl named Pandora who has suffered a life that nobody would ever wish to have. This book is about Pandora learning how to live, learning about herself and what she really wants. She has a long journey to find out all of these things, but she took the first steps in this book and it was beautiful to read. Some of the men in this book are our dream men, Hunter and Reed 😍 and then we have the men who need some work and who we all really just want to beat up until they admit what they really feel, Skel, Bram and Dexter. But that cliffy was a killer and I absolutely cannot wait until the next book!! You have written an absolute dream of a book Lyra and I eagerly await the next installment in this series!!!

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
Format: Kindle
3.5 🌟 This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens. The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him. I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure. My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!
