World Cup Champion & USEF Horse of the Year Flexible and his longtime rider/trainer Rich Fellers became a worldwide sensation when they won the 2012 World Cup Finals for Show Jumping, the first American pair in 25 years to do so! In 2012, Flexible's outstanding performance in the Olympic qualifiers (the pair had only one rail down in competition from the World Cup straight through to the Olympics), secured them a berth on the U.S. Olympic Team for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. They were the highest placing American pair in the Team event and Individual events. Flexible was purchased at age six in Ireland by Rich Fellers for owners Harry and Mollie Chapman of Oregon. Along with dozens of national Grand Prix wins, Flexible has had a successful international career, including second at the 2008 World Cup Final and as members of winning Nations Cup teams in 2008 and 2010 at the Spruce Meadows Masters in Calgary, Alberta. In 2012, Flexible was awarded the prestigious United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) International Horse of the Year Award. Today, Flexible and Fellers still compete at select competitions, though Flexible now spends more time burnishing his legacy through new generations of foals that he has sired!
